I am working on a 26 Ford touring that I picked up in Nevada a while back and am considering doing all of my own sheet metal work. The body is actually two different bodys, although both are 26 tourings (front&back), so while trying to mary the two together i've found that I don,t know what the proper dimension should be from the hinged side of the front door to the latch side of the rear door. Is there a printing available that would have that sort of information or could someone on this post forward the information to me via email? wilkinson_1@q.com I am enjoying the restoring of this car and am glad to read so many great post. This is my first try at this. Mostly I have built hot rods and with those, you just make things fit. Thanks,Bart W. in Idaho
I believe on later phaetons A and up.... That the front seat is non-moveable....and boths adds support and determines position...mounts the rear.
Bart, just hang the rear doors on the front half of the body and then fit the rear half body to the rear doors and the sill. You then have rear doors that will fit the opening. Hope that works for you. ........Jack
Did I read that right about building Hot Rods and making things fit.....didn,t you just answer your own question?
