^ Yep, forgot about about that one. I believe they were also on Winfield's Reactor. Probably popular at the time but there was more than one of the Alexander Bros. cars sporting them.
Mark ! Cool ride, my friend !! Don't remember seeing it "on the circuit" in those days...but a lotta work in there !!! Mike & Larry both great guys, and I met Jack Florence many moons ago. A very talented kustom guy. Merry Christmas to you, amigo ! And, if you bring that to Salina next year, I wanna ride in those swivel seats !!!! JK www.legends.thewwbc.net
Is the plate recessed at an angle? Even in the photo you just posted it appears deeper on the left side than the right.
Man, that is just plain a good looking car. I've always liked it and the more I look at it, the more I dig it. Looking forward to seeing it in Indy. Don't supposed Jack Walker has talked you into bringing it to KC for his Cavalcade of Customs in Feb by chance so I'll get to see it sooner?
LOL....although it is rather ironic that you are the show car king and not an indoor show guy. LOL I'm not an indoor show guy myself, but Jack had asked Myron about bringing the Chevy when he saw it in Indy last year, but by that point Myron had already sold it to me. Jack saw me with the Chevy at a show last fall and asked me to bring it, so, I thought in honor of Myron I would go ahead and do it.
Always love the A Bros work. Clearly Barris loved it enough to make it their 'Detroit Division' as well!!!
Colin HD, thank you for that Alexander Bros Kustoms / Barris Kustoms business card. Very nice. The Don Dobbins Shoebox in that Custom Rodder article in interesting.. I had forgotten about that little piece from back in the 1990's I guess. I recently did an CCC-Article on the Don Dobbins Ford, and Don is still hoping to get in touch with the current owner of the car. He lost track of it, but knows it is still around today. Last info we have is from a car dealer in Seattle... just a couple of years ago.
The following month after that article, Custom Rodder ran a pic from the (then) current owner, showing it in blue with white flames. I'll dig it out at the weekend.
Im not a shoebox fan for the most part, but I always liked that shoebox, it used to be 5 mintutes away from my house, not sure what happen tho, havnt seen it in 5 years?
Saw this picture on the Satan's Angels FB page. Hopefully you don't have it already in your collection.
I`m looking forward to getting photos that say Indy 2016. Or do we have to wait for the 50th anniversary of the picture in 2017. It`s strange the license plate is straightened out, but now the hood is lopped-sided.
the hood probably looks lopsided because I took a picture of a picture and it wasn't laying flat... sorry
No need for an apology. The pictures are priceless and would be a treasure to have. It`s not to often when you see the front p***engers bucket seat turned all the way around facing the rear. It makes the picture that much more special to have.
I've seen this car in person, and pictures can never do it justice...but Chadly is a top notch shutterbug. He'll do you proud!
