Picture post attempt. Found this in a backyard in Wichita, KS. Have very nice doors, decent rumble lid, and a nice dash. Was told it sat in the backyard since the 70's. Only a portion of the roof was visible from the street. The roof has been nicely chopped and the window trims were chromed. Kind of a hack job channeling it but nothing that cant be fixed.

I plan to build it but for now i am just hunting parts. The quarter panels have been hacked up to raise the wheel well opening. I have not been able to track down any quarters yet. I am thinking about lowering the wheel opening to the correct location and filling the gap with some sheet metal. I think I can pull it off, but I haven't convinced myself yet. For awhile I tried to talk myself into leaving it channeled and not mess with the quarters. But I prefer a hiboy.
Keep gathering parts.Don't cut into unless you KNOW you can fix it. Finding parts for a 32 3W won't be easy or cheap. Have you seen the old Rodders Journal with the chopped and channeled 3W. You could change you rmind ! I love 'em all short and squatty. And coupes chopped and channeled.
Take it slow, enjoy the build, and take a whole bunch of pictures along the way. The first thing to do is to put wheels with tires under it, to make it a rolling project. Great find and congradulations! What are your neighbors all thinking about you new car in the drive way?
Here are a couple of resent pictures. I did not get much done last winter but I am making head way now. I built this frame in the spring then ***embled the floor and rockers from Brookville. Now I am attaching the body after having it sand blasted. Once I get the body mounted I will tackle those wheel wells. Whatdaya think?
Glad to see your progress and even happier than you are going to SAVE IT ... If you need any measurements ... off mine ... feel free to ask
Damn, that is looking good! You are moving right along now on it too. God, It's great seeing an old Deuce get saved and on the road again. I'd love to hear the story of who had the car, its history, and how you found it. Keep us posted with more pics of your progess.
Nice car keep going it looks sweet , I found one last week while driving down the street in my home town . I could just make out the roof sticking out from behind some pallets next to a mechine shop . I tryed to buy it and it wasent for sale .
Well, since you asked, FWIF I'd replace the wheel well area of the quarter with ones from a 32 Roadster. I've always loved that look. looks *****in' http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com...01_custom_1932_ford_deuce_coupe/photo_02.html It's not the first one to do it, but maybe one of the best. Drew
A few update pictures . I am starting to fix the quarter panels. I cut the wheel well loose and clamped it to the sub rail. Then cut the filler and welded it in. Its going a lot better than I feared it would. I have to keep at it because I burn out easily doing stuff like this. Got my little buddy out there helping me.
I think your little buddy would have better results if he held the hammer more towards the end of the handle.
Gotta pay a compliment to the whole board here, Seeing this work as well as others who post their talents on it makes me even more glad it Ryan had the foresight to bring us all together. This 3W coming together is like all talent. I knew people back in the 80's that did this kind of work and had their heads up their ***es. Lots of work got done, but they had the at***udes to go with it. No at***udes here, just talent. Keep posting updates so I can remain inspired!
Looks real good. It looks like the car is in capable hands, and you're doing a fine job...or perhaps your little buddy is doing all the hard work?
Now that you have one it's spelled DEUCE. Right 3 window? _____________________________________________________________________ Like I told the kid, "Your music's not too loud, it just ****s!"
