The only good that will ever come of our current economic trends is that soon enough there will become a Massive group of people too poor to do anything but learn the traditional ways of self crafting whatever they will hope to have.

[/ QUOTE ] Unfortunately,we already have millions of poor people and the only traditional thing the know is how to make babies.

  2. Not that this is a laughing matter, but the ridiculous decision making processes are usually made by idiots with motivational posters on their walls like this...

Kinda appropriate that it's the Great Wall of CHINA!

I've recently discoved this website Smart-ass posters Like this:

The Sheetmetal Contractor I work for does business with several large corporations. One of the Plant Managers has that "Great Wall" poster hanging on his wall. I asked him if he knew that the Chinese regarded it as the "Longest Graveyard in the World", and he said"so what, it was still a great display of Teamwork".

I think he has "teamwork" and "Slavery" mixed up. Either that, or he has been trained not to see a distinction between the two...

Lucky bastard. [IMG] I didn't get one Fucking penny.By calling it a "temporary layoff",legally they dodn't have to give any notice or severance. They are betting I will find a job before they have to call me back after 13 weeks. And even if I got called back, they could lay me off again after another 7 weeks.

  6. Yeah, they nailed 60 people at work today. Some of whom got called back after they got laid off in June. So, at least I got a job til February, that is when the next round is rumored to take place [IMG]

  7. Sorry to hear about the job. I got "severed" a couple of weeks ago, effective tomorrow. My employer's letting a couple hundred of us go, so I wasn't the only one. Didn't hurt too bad as I was pretty fed up with the place and ready to leave anyway, and the severance package is OK.

I know what you mean about keeping people in the dark, it just plain sucks. We usually found out about this kind of stuff by listening to the radio and reading the newspaper, they always knew what was happening before we did.

Like a lot of others, my employer is moving a lot of operations to other countrie. This globalization stuff is really hurting the U.S. When our CEO was questioned about the financial effects of this stuff on U.S. workers his reply was that there are other markets to pursue now that they are a global corporation. What a crock!

Just think of all the time you'll have to play with the toys now!

    Hope things work out OK,

I worked for HeliPro International in Canada and the Big wiggs over in Vector Areospace that own a glob of small time areo repair facilities decided to merge two companies together one day. they gave everyone 2 weeks notice of this event. On the last day they gave evryone a chance to apply for their jobs. "In all fairness" Yeah right. You had to write down what you contributed to the company in skill and trade. and also write down what you thought you could do to improve. Aside from the contracts you signed when you started depicting that a person was to only be asigmed particluar jobs for certain orders that came in. Makes sence to me boss! [IMG] I lost out on my position to a retard that was related and had no experience what so ever. I feel your pain in my own wierd way dude. People like that need to be shot. [IMG] And Yes severance packages from larger companies DO ROCK! [IMG]
