History The Battlebirds

The Battlebirds passed through a lot of hands and even the restored #98 car lacks parts found on the original. There originally was an oil cooler set just about where the passenger seat would have been. There also was an aluminum divider between the oil cooler and the driver. The louvers were to draw in and exhaust air passing through the oil cooler.

 

The dual coils were added sometime later as the original cars has Vertex Magnetos.
