  2. Jeff, thanks for dedicating this weeks Art Show to Mr.Drake,he will be dearly missed. The man was the master of line art ,which is my own personal favorite(if i can ever do another, waiting for wrist surgery). To all the talented artists, great work this week in honour of such a talented man,R.I.P. BDrake.

Ok as promised, another from me. It's a small box canvas only 30cm by 30cm so it was tricky getting such small details. I tried to get photos but my camera keeps flashing back too bright and causing a glare so i inc a little pic so you can see the whole thing.

To get a decent pic of it, I wedged it in my scanner but it's made it a little bright. The colours are somewhere between the small photo and the large scanned image. Either way you get the idea! lol :) Hope you like it...

WOW! What a start! Mr. Norwell, your work is extraordinary, to say the least. You all must have been inspired to the max! This is one I did a few years back as a CD cover for my oldies CDs. The "Cops 'n' Rodders" theme is pretty cool.

  8. Mr Norwell, you've outdone yourself. Fan-freakin-tastic stuff.

Missed out on Detroit because of the snow, so I stayed home and had an aesthetic outburst, as Jim White would say.

    A couple of practice panels...

And a skate deck that is a work in progress. A stiff middle finger to my recent health issues...

    RIP Mr. Drake.

    Something a little different
I thought I would try a little different style
this week. Rather than my usual, more realistic,
style I went for a bit more cartoonish, slightly
distorted look. Every now and then, you need
to do something a little different.

Forty... I got a big kick out of your mark-up on the DeSoto.
Makes me remember my merciless art director days.

Flying Polock... man that truck is pretty! The green is super-cool!

    SurfMonkey... Looking good!

Mr. Paterson... nice pencil work! and the 32 roadster is just tooooo cool!

    Jigger...
    the Catalina is looking mean-a!

    LowCab... Niiiiiiiiiice!

    Nix66... Great pix!

and... who's that Norwell guy? he's pretty good.
    Great stuff Jeff!

    And last...
I didn't know Bill Drake at all. But I remember the night he posted
that blue Fiat doing a little wheelie. I remember telling him how much I liked it.
I'm glad I did. Not to sound trite; but it's painfully clear that life IS too short.
My sympathies to those who knew him... his family and friends.

This news really hits me wrong. I rarely get an opportunity to meet a fellow artist - even more rarely to meet a fellow HAMBer who is an artist so meeting one at his level of skill and status...well let's just say it probably won't happen again.

I'll never forget meeting him by accident at the Pileup, and I certainly won't forget his words on that day.

He was a hell of a nice guy.

He'll be missed sorely - both around here on Fridays, and by his friends and family I am sure.

    Damn.

    RIP BDRAKE.

I haven't done an art post in a while. Too much going on to do much hot rod stuff. Here is a postcard I finished a couple of months ago. This one still needs to be trimmed down on one edge.

I noticed his work the first time I was on this board. His and Norwells. I have only been doing this for 2 or 3 years but here are some of mine inspired by those 2 guy's work. I can only hope to make my renderings as good.
I have posted all of these before.
