Waiting in the staging lanes at the off topic GS nationals and having some fun at the Day of The Drag Race, Little River.

The clarity and sharpness of B & W is hard to beat; old photos, new photos, does't make any difference. First page, a Tucker for $3000.00; what's one worth now? And lastly, what are all those guys looking at under the hood?

I dug up a few from family album. Sorry for poor quality, these are pictures of pictures from the early 50's maybe late 40's.

My Dad's 42 Plymouth convertible, back of picture says it was blue.


Car looks really good in original photos. Looks like 49ish Chevy in background.


My Dad's 47 Plymouth. What is up with the whitewalls?? They don't even cover the tire?? He must have gotten smaller ones off the clearance rack or something.


This was my Dad's Studebaker. He dated my Mom in that car and he always made her get in from the drivers side. He told her it was because he always wanted her close. But the real reason was......


...the other side was a wreck and he didn't want her to know what a piece of junk she was riding in.


In the 50's he switched to GM. This was a black 50 Chevy with a red interior. He really liked that car. He was in College and my Grandpa bought it new but my Dad used it. Seeing this car in the family album was my inspiration for getting my 53 Pontiac. I would post a picture of my Pontiac but I only have color pictures of it.

My mom's first new car bought with "her" money, my aunt drove the other car, a little sister race on a back road, my drunk dad totaled the 57 two months later.y aunt got rid of the Plymouth for a 55 Victoria. I hope this fits the thread ,

I just got word that Fred Egloff a long time racer and speed shop owner is very ill. I met Fred at a lot of Dover reunions a true gentleman. These are some more B&W photo's I have.
