Are you sticking with the gold dash? What colour is the top going to be? Black works really nicely with the old biscuit top and gold dash, and the whole combination would make for a very classy custom. Are you going to reupholster the interior?
OK, I'm probly going to be the idiot of the week for asking, and I have browsed much of this cool thread looking for the answer... What is a Cavendish?
Eric, I don't want to cloud the thread, but you might find this interesting. My old shoe sedan differed from most in that the top was widened to meet the pillars, as you have done. It was split down the center, with the gap widening toward the rear (due to the rearward pitch of the chop). The chop was 5" at the B-pillar. Work was done by Bill Hayes, in Franklin, Va. After I totaled the car, I gave the remains to Jackie Shipp, who did an excellent job of grafting the roof onto the relatively stock bodied sedan below. (Sorry for the bad photo.)
Looks good Mo. The funny thing is that I chopped it twice. The second time I made the pie cuts and put it back to stock width.
Lol, I went out and just started cutting and welding on Thursday and the next thing you now I had a windshield that .00000001% of the population cold tell the difference. Anyhow, it made me sleep better.
You just gotta cater to the poofteenth of the population who do get it Eric. That and the little nagging voice you hear at about 2am. The thing is, it is the journey and you are doing it. Enjoy the moment, don't stress.
Hi X38.Are those the tools that are used to measure the intellect of political types? Good luck.Have fun.Be safe. Leo
I'm pushin' the "LIKE" button three times!!! I just wanted to be the first here to congratulate you. Now back to looking at the pictures!
This car just keeps getting better with every modification that you do. Soon you're gonna have to leave it alone. Won't be anything left to do. Nice job man.
One thing seems to lead to another. Somehow, I think there's a lot more to come! (Did I hear wheel lips?) Hey, Eric. How about some '51 Merc fender caps grafted in the rear, to accentuate that killer speedboat profile? LOL
Go go go! Got your conduit and stuff to get the top started? Really looking forward to seeing that take shape. Keep it up yo.
