Hey Eric. How about flipping it over, "Just to see"? (I used an inverted shoe window in a chopped Stude.)
I saw Leroy Gulart's shoebox many times, never noted the '52 style one piece windshield! Was this a later update, after the color change from the iridescent green/gold? EricH, you are demonstrating sheer genius in this convert. The Vicky top find was as though you ordered it! Great thread, my HAMB bros and I are genuinely glued to this thread.
Sometimes it's the less obvious things that make the most outstanding customs. Goulart's car was still in green when it appeared on the cover of Custom Cars magazine in Sept., 1958, by then already sporting quad lights and curved windshield. (Winfield also used this Windshield on his outstanding "Solar Scene" '50 Merc Check it out! http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Solar_Scene )
I don't want to cut mine up, but seeing all this great work has me itching..... BUT, I don't know how to weld!!! HAAHHAHAHAHAHHAA!!
Wow Eric you never cease to amaze me with your creativity and your ability to pull it off all in a relatively short period of time. Unreal man.
Just a suggestion...a 1953 Kaiser licence plate over rider would look right at home on the front bumper in place of the dagmars. But you've pretty much hit this thing out of the park like Sammy Sosa on the juice already.
I think this is looking extremely sick. Looks like it was worth the trip. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Thanks for all the compliments guys. I am really glad that so many of you enjoy these updates and where the car is heading.
I find the daily updates on the Black Cavendish far more interesting than those of the Kardashians . Look forward to these rather than the morning paper.
Rik Hoving did a few fantastic shops depicting my car with various roof styles and these are my two favorites.
I'm sure it is going to be more of a hassle but the wrap around vic glass has my vote. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
It's a hard call, they both look great. I think my vote goes towards the wrap around window as well....not that you are soliciting votes or that mine matters.
Well,i like the second version.I've never cared much about wrap around windows on shoeboxes,i think they look better on cars with full size bodies, not much on a small shitboxes like 49-51 Fords...But thats just my opinion.
