The only '32-'34 pickup available is an old kit, recently re-issued by Lindberg, though you can still find the older AMT version at swap meets and stuff. Well, Lindberg MAY have some weird '32 RPU too, but it's a POS. The Best bet for a '32 five-window in plastic is probably to buy an AMT/MPC American Graffiti or "Switchers" '32 Coupe and use the body on a Revell-Monogram '32 fender/chassis unit.

Thanks for the response. I will keep that in mind next time I am at the LHS or a swap meet.

    63CadGuy,

Truth on this one? The holes in the wheel backs on this model are larger than the OD of my axle, so to keep the front wheels from falling over to one side or the other, I "turned" them both for the pics. I glue all my wheels in place, so I MAY end up making this one permanently going left or right, but I rarely do that on a drag model. I'm going to add some spindle backing plate detail to the axle before I attach the front wheels forever, anyway.

    Leadfoot,

Here's one I built a couple of years back:

Bit lateto be sunday but heres a bit of what ive done lately.
Five window is the American hot Rod kit which is juist a Graffiti coupe with fenders. Brian Setzer's 32 is inspiration for this one, gonna be really sixties influenced with chrome reversed rims multi carbed cad mill etc.
Re-built the T tudor after seeing the Drag N Fly.

Looks good, I just stated throwing together one of those American Hot Rod '32 kits. Gonna be a lot more '60's, bright red, piecrust blackwall slicks, hemi...pictures of my progress next week.

I've got around 10-15 unbuilt kits, 30-40 in progress builds, and 15-20 finished models (not counting those I've sold or that were given away).

Rat your absolutely right. I did!
I thought yours was so cool, I had to make my own.

I've got about 300 models. At least a dozen started.
The oldest is probably the AMT 3-in-1 25T / chopped T.
At least that's my favorite. Plus I've got a Monogram Blue Bettle, MPC '28 Ford PU. An MPC '33 Chevy panel Truck, that's a Budd Anderson Master kit. (if that means anything.) I've heard that that was the last issue of that kit. From there it became the Barnabas Collins vampire truck. (the old Dark Shadow days) Plus a couple of MPC Wild Ones, MPC Switchers, Revell Cherry Pie. To many to list.

Peter Pan, I live four blocks from the cruise and I haven't been there yet.
    And I don't think I miss it.

    cycloneman1 my vote, without fenders.

  19. look at a real hobby shop or online for a paint called alclad. you spray the part gloss black first and then airbrush a light coating of alclad over it. here is a crappy picture of some plain wheels with alclad on them, they are much more chrome like in person.[IMG]

here's a little better picture of some 1/8th scale wheels with alclad on them

Eventually you gotta break down and pay the priced for aftermarket stuff. Sometimes its the only thing that will work, and it's worth the price IMO.

Modelhaus had great chrome reverses.....you wont find anything more realistic.

that alcad looks awesome, I always wondered how it would turn out on some big 1/8th scale parts, it looks like real chrome!

  24. the trick seems to be not using too much. the wheels on the rpu were the first ones i used it on. the big deuce wheels were my second try and i think they came out better.

  25. I haven't built a model in 7 or 8 years but I counted my unbuilt kits and stopped at 128, there are probably a few that I missed. My built kits number somewhere in the 400's, and I have several old kits that have been put together but are missing pieces. (a very old tall top T turtle deck comes to mind, and a couple of original tarantula dragsters) Anyone doing any dioramas?

  26. Thanks.
