So I have a set of rims that have an opening for a hub that is about 3.25,
The hub on my for ford is about 3.5, can the hub be machined down to fit the rims? has anyone had this done? Do you guys know what the hell I'm talking about?

Did you do a Granada swap? ... I have the same problem.

I thought the hub was smaller than that though. The wheel centers on the steelies I am looking at would easily fit. Maybe I measured wrong ...

I'll check when I get off work.

Had a similar problem on my 60 F-100 when I did the IFS swap. The steelies I got had a smaller hub then the Granada rotors. I just went out and bought another set of wheels (steelies are cheap anyway) and kept the ones I didn't use for use on the rear of my model A.

It definately sounds like a volare/granada/plymouth swap.

There is a guy in the ford-trucks.com site that did that to his volare hubs on a lathe, said it wasn't that much he took off.

Abe,,,,watch your *** when doing this. I gotta buddy with a chevy pickup wanting to put p***enger car wheels [small bolt pattern] on his pickup rotors after redrilling the bolt pattern. He ran into the same problem and had a buddy turn down the pickup hubs to fit the new wheels. The machinist hit air. Some of those center hubs are pretty thin already so be careful.

i ran thin spacers up front to clear the same problem donnie had. i know some people don't like 'em but i've used 'em with no problems. just don't try to put a bunch in there just enought to give you the space to clear. i wanna say mine are 7/16 but i could be wrong. it's a cheap easy out and as you've seen above cutting the hubs down can cause problems to. i know about 4 other people with supremes that have had to use spacers to clear so i'm not the only one doing it...ken....
