OK so to finish off the Buick thread, wifey was not excited about taking a perfectly nice Buick and tearing it up. Wife was also not impressed with a $20k "death trap" 37 Topolino. But she was ok and found the 1963 Falcon aka "The Boogie Bird" $5k death trap. Go figure....the Topo was going to cost me $5k down and the financing company had A LOT of fees that totaled $1500. So I saved money. And if we want to manipulate the numbers the "BB" only cost me $3500....that at least sounded better to "Boom Boom Betty" aka Jen.

Legit former SoCal gasser. Engine and firewall are set back 2-4 inches. Some sort of tube solid axle. Drums but no brakes up front. 57 Old's rear with 3.90's and a spool. Old school gasser exhaust going through the inner fenders, annoyingly loud. Can decide flowmaster 40's or Cherry Bombs or? Full cage that ties into the frame. Front frame firewall forward is square tubing and round tubing that I assume ties into the cage. I can barely get I the bigger without being a contortionist. Will have to cut and hinge the door tubing.

Not sure on OG Falcon seats or bombers. But Cheetah and leather inside.

Thinking black primer, and gold leaf "the Boogie Bird II.Nulla" on the sides...

Have some Centerlines that might fit the back til I get the ride height sorted. Thinking gasser/street freak. The rear is narrowed. And the 10 spoke gassers up front. Then the 5 spoke gasser ET's. "Cooker" whitewall pie crusts.....

The 55 for reference at to what I am going for. Last pic of me with Boom Boom. Now wether you believe she was actually crazy enough to marry me is the subject of a different convo. But let's just say her demons and mine play well together....

I had not given it that much thought. Now I will. Got the Buick home today. Got her up to 80 and was cruising good. Not quick off the line but has legs. Could cruise all day in her.

I do like 55 Chevys with the radius rear, like the Buick. Will have to find some more Falcon gasser pics.

I am pretty excited and it was cheap. But my 200R4 or 4R will cost $2700 to get built right and I know just the parts 5-6 years ago were $1600. So I need to make sure the shop is building it how I want. I have the rebuild manual for performance from somewhere but I read the 200's are tricky to build right and all I know how to do are Harley tranny's. Found another Olds posi axle for $250 and would be good to have a spare. I don't think I can get her up in the back before the Rockabilly Bash.

Anyone going? We will have a pop up canopy set up for some shade with the Buick and hopefully the boogie bird.

Won the sewing machine that can do leather and a nice sprayer and the sandbags to anchor everything.

And I forgot, the Olds rear has a speedway disc brake conversion so even w/o front brakes she stops good.

Just looked at the Rockabilly Bash site.
All the text is real small on the White background. Very difficult to read!
I'm using Firefox on desktop, if that makes a difference.

That's how it looks on my phone w chrome. So yeah. We will have a "tent" setup. Drop by, hope to have both there. Will have a 5 little pony keg, cigars, nic vapes etc!!! A portable 12 volt to hook up the music. And my wife is friends with all the pinups. So chicks will be there taking photos...found my welder guy from the pub, so hoping to have the back raised. And hoping the Chevy centerlines will bolt up to the Olds rear. And can just do the 10 spoke up front. But I have credit cards to blow up for wheels. But I have some tires that are good but old that I would like burn up doing some passes on the strip. Getting my 383 back Sunday to build per David Vizard that I hope will not crack my 87 and later block. Might have to concrete the lower. But per his specs should be 550HP with my 520 lift Schneider can, 540 lift ish with the 1.6 crane steel roller rockers. 280 ish duration with a 108LSA. 210 Dart alum clones. And a 770 street avenger. Can't get that together by bash though...

I stuck it in the phone, but don't know if it will be a go.
    Engine sounds healthy!
Got an 49-52 Olds rear in the T. It has a big pattern (5x5) and was drilled for the Chevy 5x4.75.
Better measure! Outside to next over middle.

Messaged you my contact info. So much for the Chevy lugs but it may be a Chevy bolt pattern per seller.

Very cool car. I was talking to my dad today and this fits the description almost perfectly of what I was telling him I would like to build some day.

I would have preferred a 55 Chevy but $5k 55's disappeared in the 90's. But just to have a legit gasser is all I need. Just beyond happy with what my wife found lol...
