The Borranis Are Here... And so are the "Gold" Lines...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Ryan, Apr 4, 2013.

  1. I'm just glad I can read your posts with your voice... Thanks Piero!

BTW, looks cool, and there definitely not another like it.... Next time, ask for some Blue Streaks... With the "whitewall" about 3" from the bead...

Killer Ryan, it looks like it should be cruising the Stelvio Mountain Pass in the Italian Alps, somewhere Bill Mitchell is smiling! Brian

  3. Borrani wire wheels ... Perfection!

775-15 "Orangy"-line tires + gold tire marker pens & some patience ... Perfection!

OOOOH, to have those on my Kellison or better yet the Victress....
    Great look....

  5. I like it, but I don't love it. Kinda reminds me of the Miami Vice Ferrari Daytona wheels... on a Riv.

Don't bait us in with the old "they look ok, I'll probably change em" routine. The wheels are stellar and the "gold" lines pop so nice against the body color. You know you nailed it. Well done sir!

The longer I looked at the picture of your Riv, the more I felt a stirring "down there"...
    Oh man, nice, very nice...

Thou shalt NOT covet thy neighbors Riviera...But I just can't help it...

  12. Ryan,I am blown away with just how nice both the wheels and tires compliment the beautiful lines of the Riviera.

    Tastefully done my friend! HRP

Here she is all cleaned up and ready to roll. You'll have to take my word for it on the tires... They look pretty decent in photos, but I think the color clashes in person. I keep going back and forth.

Well ryan we may not always get what we want exactly. But it looks like the powers that be served up exactly what was needed to make that beauty perfect. Being a Ferrari GUY myself I love those wheels and the gold stripe tires just kick it. You did good. Just pulled in to Austin so I'll see that baby soon. :p BUCKD

Just checked... The radials are still really ugly!

  18. Green and orange go together like peas and carrots. Not on my truck, but, on pretty much anything else.

The Borranis look fabulous on your car! The gold lines are a nice touch too. Gold lines were first used by GM in 1965, on the Z-16 Chevelles (7.75 x 14 Firestones), and Corvettes in 1965/66 (option code TO1 were 7.75 x 15).

those tires don't look good at all on your B.R. Maybe on a Vette or a Cobra but not on your Riv. Skinny whites or those dual line whites would look way better on your car.

  21. Just let the gold lines wear a little bit... Let them get dirty a few times then maybe the orange will lighten up.....

Ryan, this is not styling by committee (I hope!), it's your car - your taste.

But adding to the general consensus, the wheels look ace... Italians know about styling, you have to give'em that, and a set of Borranis makes a car, as someone said, you could put'em on a box and it would look killer. But adding them to a cool car like the Riv, the result is even more stunning.

Looking at the photos, the tyres look like they set off the metallic green pretty damned good. Not sure how it will work when seen live, but gold would work nice. Still, even a simple set of plain blackwalls would suffice (as seen on most GT-era Ferraris), especially when you're sitting on so much coolness as it is... it's quite a strong dose of glamour on wheels, that thing!

    Cheers, Eddie

thats the thing, the gold-streaks are a very discreet tip of the hat to exactly the theme you are going for here, namely mid-sixties american luxo-gt. Its perfect.

In the photos they look absolutely perfect. Maybe in person they dont come off as well, but theres still a lot to be said for the statement they make.

Wheels are perfect, tires are perfect, front end needs to come down another inch.

Sweet ride dude, I'll be checking it out this weekend and I'll give you an honest opinion. Fortunately tires are easy to change but at this point I don't think they need to.

I'v seen those cars look pretty sharp with Vogue 'Mustard and Mayo' tires, pricy thought. Nothin' looks better than chrome wires rollin' by a big neon display!

  29. That is so fine.
If you end up wanting to have no color on the sidewalls - think about XWX's, always looked good when Ferrari used them.

These will be fitting than redlines. The color of the car lends richness. So do these.
