Thanks guy's. We are very fortunate. Here is a pic of new owner with the prior owner. He has driven school bus for my kids. Wanted this to go to the right people too.

  10. Me too.

  11. There were two or three in lovely Chico, CA in the early 90's. That's when I first learned of Hudson pickups. I wonder what happened to them.

  12. I see you're asking about colors on the Photoshop thread. Is that original paint, a stock color? I'd go with metallic in the same color if change is needed. I like the green. :D

We have started working on it.
First is getting, good, reliable brakes.

Removed the stock drum stuff on the front axle.
Mounted 1992 Ford Crown Vic front rotors on stock hub.
    Home made caliper bracket
    1978-1987 G body front caliper

1970 Chevelle front sway bar with modifications

    1974 Ford Torino master cylinder

    Well,got a update for you guy's.

We got the front disc brake adaptors made. Ended with 1 plate with the correct holes and patterns cut into it. It uses 4 spacer to space the bracket toward middle of truck , for rotor clearance. Turned out nice. 11 inch front rotors on the original hubs. Pics later. It helps that I have a milling machine.

Also have the bracket made to adapt the Torino master cylinder to the factory M/C location. Even made 1 extra.

Tonight, we dropped the rear axle. Those rear shackles were stubborn! One of them broke a 1/2" Impact extension. It took heat, a 1000 ft lb impact and a sawzall (my favorite tool)for the one that broke it's nut off. Then extraction in pieces.

Now we need a pair of rear shackles. Where to get them. Can normal parts counter places supply them? If so, got a part #?

Also need the part # for the front hub seals.

Once the brakes are done, then we will start on the motor/ trans.

Also received a American Autowire kit. 20 circuits in a generic package setup. Plenty of wire to go everywhere and extra for later.

We got a aluminum panel started for the dash insert. We "engine turned the face in 3/4" swirls on the mill. That took awhile. Now have to mount the Jeep speedo and tach and make a edge surround.

shackles are generally pretty generic, im sure there's some out there the correct size or you could make some up easy enough. typically there isnt anything special about a shackle, what you see is what you get.

im no help on the seals but maybe find a NAPA that still uses books and see if its in there, im surprised how far back some of there stuff goes

awesome truck! im pretty jealous, do you want to adopt me too so i can have one? like said above, id just measure the length and look for something similar, might be next to impossible to find stock ones.

Went to my local Orielly's and ordered the "silent shackles" as was in use already. Cheaper than on ebay and be here yet this week. We looked up the seals also. Can't beat that.

We are having quite the time with this project. It all started with his idea to have a truck. We have now hatched it into driving it to a convention next summer. And the HAMB Drags. We have went to the last 2 years. What a blast. The trip and the venue.

Got the rear mostly installed tonight. Used a 1993 Ford Explorer 8.8. They use 31 spline axles and this one has 3.27 gears. 1" narrower than the Hudson and same bolt pattern 4.5"
    The 8.8 is 59.5" wide.
Used a Chevelle front swaybar and rebent it to fit the Hudson Lower arms.

The boy is still hanging in with me. He knows what the hard work will pay off.

Got the new "silent shackles" installed also.

Ok, we are making more progress.
    Now looking at tire options.
In the pics it has 15" Plymouth rims with a 7.50-15 tire. The Plymouth rims are very skinney and will not take a larger tire.
We want to run radials and the factory Hudson Hubcaps which will fit only on rims with metal clips. We also have the factory 16" Hudson rims that are also skinney.
Looking at sending the factory rims out to MRW wheels to be widened.
How wide of a whitewall should we plan on running? I see them range from 1"-3".

Hey Tom that is a great looking truck!

I'm surprised you don't widen the wheels yourself by replacing the outer shells. Most wheel centers are the same size.

I vote for 3" wide whites.
