Haven't fired it yet. I still have some things I want to finish before we fire it up. The torque tubes are pretty thick, so I think it's going to have a really distinctive sound.

The top was chopped exactly 4".

I wish someone else besides me would!!

I cut the posts where I thought they would go back together best. The A pillars were cut at almost the very bottom of the post to keep from having a "dogleg" in the post where they came back together. The A-pillar tapers out from top to bottom, and I didn't want to mess that up. The doors were cut in the straightest section of the window frame.

No, Like every other car I've done, this car is supposed to eventually get paint. And hopefully it will be getting it soon.

It doesn't need a whole lot more work before it could go to paint....lower door patch panels, finish up the rear wheelwells and floor, and weld up the cowl panels...that's about it.

A couple of solid work days and it could be a driver. There's not a whole lot keeping it from moving under its own power.

The master cylinder is an early '60s Chevrolet pick-up piece. They are still available new.

Bubba's original idea was to use the orange/copper color on the whole car, but I think we've both decided that it would look best in black with the orange as an accent color. Interior color and design are still yet to be decided...but I have some ideas.

Thanks...the sizes are 4.50/4.75-16 front, and 7.50-16 rear on 16x4 '40 Ford wheels. The tires are the Coker-made Firestone bias ply.

The cowl is pie-cut through the subrail along the length of the cowl. This is covered by the cowl patch panel, which was installed at a slight angle to follow the frame rail.

    See above.

Yes, it's a big change for Bubba. There are a couple of 'Green Bean' parts left in the front suspension....the front axle for example.

  27. Awesome stuff, man. I always dig your progress threads, and look forward to seeing more. If possible, I'd like to see more of the subframe work that you did.

I take it from the posts, you're doing more of your machinework yourself? (The turned column jacket, the bushing in the column drop, etc)? Good stuff!
