I was born in '71 and all through elementary and junior high they told us, "Learn the metric system, it will soon replace the imperial system!" At 43 I wish it had but I still cringe every time I reach for a 10 mm.

Now I have to try to pronounce your name. I think you guys just throw up a bunch of letters and whatever comes up that's your name.

What surprises me is how well you write English. Shit ph is F. Even phonetic isn't spelled phonetically.

You know maybe we should get back to T buckets or you'll force me to post a photo of my roadster or Dennis DeBeniciuses.

Can you see my signature, if you can, I add my name too. :)[/QUOTE]

My spelling is just a proof of how committed I am about learning this thing called hot rodding!

I'm glad to see that you was joking, I was a little scared that I would loose my learners permit for the need lovers ? school of tech. Or as some of you guys call it, club night at chips.

If me rambling, is all it needs to make you post, after this you need to post more pictures!!!!

I'm properly never gonna build a T-bucket, but the things I learn from this thread is gonna teach me a lot about hot rods in general. All the rules chip have set up so far, apply to most any rod! WB, the use of tube axle for getting era look too match, wheels make or brake a car, about visual effect on parts make a car look right etc.

This might send me in penalty box, and reduce me to a lurker, for some time, because I've using far too much time talking.
Keep the pictures, the advice, the rant free education, and the solutions keep coming.
    Keep de-uglyfying going, I've learned a lot!

I dare you again, post more about these beautiful pieces of machinery.

No Brynk it's all good. If you don't take us too seriously we will do the same with you. It's just great people from all over the world are interested in this stuff.

Hey guys I'm getting as tired looking at my pictures as you are. I "double dog dare" you guys to post some shots of your stuff.

Gary, I don't get tired of seeing pictures of your beautiful T-bucket. I am certainly not opposed to seeing pictures of some of the other very nice T-buckets as well.

  11. One thing I have been thinking about for years is what is the defining line of a bucket, does it carry on through the 26-27 (mine for example) and I have heard of A buckets made from an RPU but without the PU. In NZ, since I can remember it was always the fibre glass pre 26 that carried the label.
School me oh wise T people and Chip, this is a damn fine thread. JW:D

Just my opinion, and many will disagree, but in my mind "T bucket" is reserved for 1925 and earlier. I've just never viewed the '26/7 as a "bucket".

hate to pile on, but me too! pre '26 are buckets... '26-'27,> seen a few w/o fenders that I liked.... darn few tho.....

  16. We've covered this ground before, and (if I remember right) one of Chip's favorite buckets is a 26/27. I agree that it's more difficult to build a 26/27 T Roadster into a good looking T-Bucket, but several have been built. That said, I'm personally going to be converting one back to a roadster pickup one of these days (assuming it doesn't rust away first!).

Edit: Ah-ha! Found it! Starts on post #1008, with pics on post #1021. :D

When I joined the HAMB, thought it was any early ford body, with non functioning doors and no trunk.

    How wrong could I be?
! I've learned it has a model T body that ain't a modified, track T, T Roadster, dry lake build, gow job, RPU T or Bobtail T, must be a bucket
    :D

Its not a bucket but at least a model-T.
Let me know if it dont belong here and i remove it.
The reason i follow this thread is all good info about what
make or break a cool build. Im sure my car will end up better
after followed this thread then it would without it.
I hope it will end up to look like a 60-62 build when i finnished.
It will not be a era correct build but hopefully close enough without to loose the feeling.
    This body and engine.

And this frame. ( It needed som modification)

    The frame today.

This will hopefully end up as a cool hotrod.

I have to say that my 26 is not a bucket, I'm building it as an RPU :)
Of course there has been more done since this shot... :)

Hey Anders I love it. If their ever were a T bucket coupe that's it. With all the twist and turns this thread has gone through I don't think anybody will object to a top on a kool T like yours. Hell a guy posted photos of his bitchin black A bucket. This thread is all about learning and their is a lot to learn from your build. Let's hear more about your build. What hemi.,trans, diff. suspension are you running.
We (you and I) started with the same frame material. 2"x3" steel tube. And no I don't know what that is in mm but I'm sure you and anybody but us ugly American's (USA) will know.

I always enjoy looking at pics of steel rebel's car. As far as the T bucket thing goes, Icall my 27 a Hot Rod.

You know Mac I don't like "T bucket" to describe my roadster either but if I am telling anybody about my T roadster it is the best description that most will understand. So many people don't know what a "T modified" is which is what I like. So many people don't even know what a roadster is. I think we have gone over on this thread what a "roadster" is. Or maybe I'm opening another can of worms.
Keep the pictures coming guys. We need to keep Chip's thread going while he is too busy to work on his.

Interesting. I posted years ago (here on the HAMB) the question Jeremy did with my opinion of T bucket being reserved for pre '26 T roadsters and got flamed for my opinion. I thought it was funny (sad?) that an opinion could stir up so many emotions. Of course I'm thick skinned (hard headed too) and my opinion didn't change.

Glad to see all you fellow T-baggers (oops, another discussion maybe) seem to hold the same sentiment I do.

In my eyes the body's progression through time went from T roadster, to T modified, to Fad T and has only begun recently to evolve yet again as a "viable" hot rod to build in the minds of the average hot rodder. I think the Fad T thing just KILLED what the T had going for it. Maybe not then, as it created a huge surge in builds through the 70's, but by the early 80's EVERYTHING that could be done to a T had been done.

And for the record Gary, I don't view your car a bucket either. Love that car!

I kind of let most all car type naming slide off me,tell I here rat#@&^%#,so defining what is what often has a bit of a foggy line depenning on who thinks it.
Anyway as for me,I met up with our group of""Hotrods" an we started the year off, first sat nite out with pizza at our same old hangout from the late 50's FrankyPizza2015.jpg
