  1. Yeah, that's always smart! Piss off the guy with the badge. Association or not, that never ends well! ;-)

  2. Heck Gary, you may have to put some parking meters in your yard now with your extra toy.
Now, just where do you find parking for this new one ? 655.jpg

Where did you find that photo?
Okay look at the motorhome in the upper right behind the No Parking sign. Than look at my last post. It is between the motorhome and the rock wall. One little open spot.

It's funny this truck sat right in a front yard under a tree maybe a quarter mile from the cops house for more than eight years with no red tag. It just was hiding in plain sight. It didn't look like it was broke down where the cops Mustang is sitting right next to his house looking like it's not in use.

  5. I have trouble understanding the California laws but I believe the State is a " Green " State compared to others. Is the motorhome parked on the outside of your property?

California law is totally schizophrenic, which is why I'm now a Texan. Abnormal social behavior and a failure to recognize what is real is not a problem here.

Actually, Technically, The motorhome and new/old truck are parked on my property. We have no sidewalks or curbs in the "Kelseville Rivera" where I live. (map quest it if interested). We are semi rural. They are parked where a sidewalk and front yard would be in a normal city home. Although the city & county have a twenty foot setback easement, on the front of my property. Also being a rural clean air county we don't need the semi annual California smog tests. However when you change titles you need a smog test UNLESS you are buying said "currently registered" vehicle from a "close relative" and fill out and sign a form stating that fact under penalty of perjury, as the last few old vehicles I bought were.;) I might get tripped up on this one because it is not "Currently Registered". HOWEVER their is an exemption process. I don't know what that entails though. I'll just have to play it by ear and tell the DMV the lies I think they want to hear. Does that make any sense? Welcome to California.:)
That is some of the California DMV stuff we have to contend with. Although I haven't found it necessary to move out of state yet.:D

I think that might be another California DMV law.:);) Oh yeah Chip lives in Arizona. It might be a Federal law in the U.S.:p

I think the latter is closer to the truth. At least on this thread.
You have to be crazier than a bed bug to even want a T bucket. Let alone get on the highway in it.

  14. Hey Andersf, if you are building a T similar to that, please just give the steering box position a great deal of thought as I believe the pitman arm hanging down that low is an accident waiting to happen.
Gary, I spotted that photo of your two cars on a TBucket site a couple of years or so ago and long before meeting you here. I saw that photo and the first thing in my thoughts was, " Now that is the America I could imagine living in, a T Roadster for hot sunny days and a Coupe for taking Mother shopping or the odd wet day. To me that photo reminds me of my dream where I have a Roadster and a tin roof car for other times and both pre 49. I still have trouble understand why people want CD players etc in a Roadster. Luxuries like sound systems and air conditioning, hell even cup holders, belong in closed cars in my book.

Sometimes I guess I don't appreciate the life I live. You work all your life and build little by little and if you are lucky you get to retire with a roadster and a coupe.
Your getting close. I hate to advertise to the world where I live. You stalkers will be all over me and all the poperazi will be bugging me every time I walk out the door.:);):p:D:rolleyes:
Sometime I forget to use the happy faces.

Yikes!! In all seriousness however, a guy does have to be pretty careful in this day and age. I never worry about any of you jokers, it's whomever may troll these sorts of forums for "useful" info.

An interesting point has arisen, that mag that Anders posted dated 1964 the bucket has lakes style headers. Up for discussion- how relevant were lakes headers as opposed to headers that rolled down and ran along the body. Do we have some info out there on dates for various header styles.:)

  24. That is a very good subject to bring up Graham so thanks for that. I too have wondered at how far back the lakes style headers went and then running the exhaust under the car ? I think from memory I have an old AMT model kit of a T Bucket that had lakes style headers but no pipes under the car and it was from the early 60's. I am of two minds when it comes to choose the style of exhaust for T Roadster as one has to step right back and take in other dimensions of the car to work out what really suits it. A longer wheel base would suit the external header and side pipes more so then lakes. But as usual, I will now shoot myself in the foot and say Larry's '26/27 Roadster Pickup certainly suits the lake headers with the pipe going down through the frame to hidden from view mufflers and pipes exiting out the rear.

Chip is probably fed up with all my OT shit. Can't blame him.

  27. Now Gary, don't you put yourself down man as you are a very important cog on the wheel of deuglfying T Roadsters. Chip has been awfully busy trying to catch up with his work load of late according to his Faceach page. I know he hasn't forgotten us so we will just have to cruise along here as we have been doing to keep the thread interesting and moving in a positive way. Heck, I'm sure there must be more photo's of Gary's T that we haven't enjoyed yet from either his build time or otherwise.
