I hear ya, man. I have a wool, knit hat; I wear at work. I'm a receiving clerk in a meat warehouse. The average temp is 35*. That hat was given to me by an ex-girlfriend, but she gave it to me, when times were good and she's passed away. One day it came up missing. I clocked out and searched the loading dock for hours, until I found it. I'm still looking for the SOB that took that shift knob.;)

I'm afraid of a lot of things but not clowns. I have all my car memorabilia in the guest room. I put this in there. Every time my daughter came for a visit I found it put away in a cabinet.

Read Stephen Kings, "It". "Pennywise", the clown. IMO, his best work. Read the book. Next time ya go to the circus.... you won't laugh. I read it in 3 days. Couldn't put it down.

Funny I haven't had one comment on it since I put it on a few months ago. Maybe that says something. I was always getting comments of Norms carved skull.

I saw the movie Blue Velvet and Roy's line just stuck with me.

Sadly, most folks at a car show, probably thought you got it at Auto Zone for $8.99

Nah, the quick disconnect isn't as much about theft as it is about getting in and out of the car. I still have these ridiculously long legs that are sort of hard to get around the wheel when it's time to dismount. Pop the wheel and it's a heck of a lot easier to do.

That's why I have a steering wheel disconnect in my T also.
Not so much for long legs as to get this old frame into the car.
With the steering wheel and column at a comfortable and sensible height and angle for driving (no stupid ugly and bulky tilt) there is no way I could get in or out with the wheel in the way. :D
Tiny doors and big me :D

That is a thief trying to make himself feel better about taking what wasn't his, IMHO!

    Hmmm I wonder why :D
    Lets think about this.
    1) an evil smile full of razor sharp teeth.
    2) an ice cream cone in one hand and a hatchet in the other hand.

But c'mon in kiddies, don't be afraid :D:D

  18. Yeah, technically he stole the dimensions from Norm's car also....he didn't have permission to take them. I wonder how old he was when he took the hood ornament? Since his face was kinda well known, you would think the original owner could have put 2 and 2 together. I know if something of mine turns up missing and someone was just trying to buy it, that person is gonna make the suspect list! (But maybe I'm just a suspicious old SOB!) Can't stand theives! They've taken FAR to much from me over the years! Everything from a set of skull valve stem caps (minor), a 454 long block out of the back of my El Camino (still wondering how many of them it took to pick it up!), a 454 powered jet boat, race prepared 1972 Datsun 240 Z, and a whole shop full of tools and parts in Virginia (240 Gallon commercial compressor, spray guns, a roll away full of air tools, another full of hand tools, an engine hoist, 3 Chevelle cowl induction air cleaners, a pair of Pro Car bucket seats, and I don't even remember what else! I actually know who did this (or knows who does), but I figured it out the day I left for Hawaii, and the cops did absolutely nothing about it once I was gone. Bad thing was, he was the previous tenant of my shop, so I've got a feeling he had keys. He's lucky I was in the Navy and never made it back to the East Coast! Now see there, Ya'll done went and got me all riled up! <end rant>.

  19. On a happier note, start counting your pennies, got a line on a 70's 4-71 blown Survivor T. Friend of a friend passed away, and the cars for sale for $13000.00. Should have pics later this afternoon. It's been sitting in a shop for a while, it's got a fuel leak and he couldn't get under it anymore to fix it. It's got a coil spring front suspension that's a little ugly, but it's not too bad of a car (decent sized rear tires, has a top, SBC auto drivetrain, etc).

Don't ask "WHY", but is this one of the reasons Fad T's had fat assed tires? Just a thought.

  24. Thanks Fred, one of my favourite race cars.:cool::cool: JW

  25. Yup! Once you started having HOT rods like this one, people wanted to emulate that style on the street.

  26. To be honest, this was the one that got my T-with-a-tail mojo running, despite the Chevy engine. Had the Hot Rod image tacked on my wall as a kid.

How the heck did we get from T buckets to race cars that slightly resemble a T ? :D

Well, nothing else was getting posted. I thought it would be a nice T related JOLT. At present, I'm expecting my radius rods and I'll begin tacking brackets to my frame. My quest for a roller, by summers end, continues.
