For NICE valve covers go to : Squeeg's Hot Rod Connection, hit "images," You'll like.
They are cast Aluminum like early Corvettes.. 9 fins.

  2. Look at Rockys thread, those are Bush Pilots Wings. Or you can Google that.

  3. Back to the subject at hand...I think those are Weiand valve covers, although I have seen them with lots of other logos in the rectangle. I used to own a pair that said "Pro/Stock" on them.

Not Weiand. They may be similar in appearance, but the differences are obvious once side by side. The ones with the Mr Gasket nameplates are the same as the ones on Chip's engine. The Pro/Stock and A/FX covers are the same casting as the Weiand style pictured and they came out in the early 70's.

  6. I stand corrected. I never noticed the difference in the top profile before. I always assumed (yeah, I know...) that they were all the same. Good to know.

We'll have to ask Larry Tate (father of Sharon) or Mrs. Kravits (mother of Lenny).

A guess from a nobody in sweden.
When Grabowski and Ivo build their cars the term "T-bucket" was'nt in use yet.
So theirs cars where some kind of a custombuilt lakes modified when they were built.
And your car is built after the term start to be used. Thats the only differenses i can see.

And the answer has to come from the other side of the world. I think you have gotten into the Baskerville mind. He was into this stuff back when "T Bucket" wasn't a term used and they were called Lakes Modified's. Now you can call yourself the Swedish somebody that figured out the Lakes Modified, T Bucket riddle. Not much of a claim to fame but something.

    Thanks Gary

I've got a set of the Mr. gasket ones, but without the name plate. I'm not sure who made mine, but I love the look. I don't run them anymore because I didn't want to drill a PVC hole in them.

On a side note, I read and commented on the Italian race car thread and got motivated for a 42 degree cruise. Got the blood flowing and the only person that got it, was a guy on a Harley Bobber. I was in good company.

Thanks guys! Even though I have been a bit under the weather the last couple of days I have been getting stuff done. Roy's touring 'bucket is going to leave this afternoon, so more space is freed up 'round these parts. I am almost ready to put the nice big gas tank into my car with Halibrand Steve's spin on gas cap on and done. I'm going to take a trip up north of here a bit this weekend and get the front tires trued, plus I still have to write up and post that little gizzie on making my elephant's base with hole saws.... More to come soon!

  30. Making an elephant's base with hole saws, huh? I am totally lost. I need to lay off the Nyquil & Windex jello shots........
