Projects The bucket of ugly! A de-uglifying thread...

  1. Chip, I got one of those call's recently too! Only it wasn't a mouse, it was a tarantula! It had run into my bookcase of car books and my wife wanted to know what to do about it. I told her to leave it alone till I got home, it was just as afraid of them as they were of it! It hadn't moved an inch when I got here (I was 30 miles away when I got the call), so I caught it in a Tupperware bowl and set it loose down in the RV storage. The panic in my wife's voice when she called was priceless though! Probably didn't help that I laughed when she told me what was wrong.....she didn't seem to see the humor in the fact she was afraid of a 5" spider 6' away from 12' feet of boa constrictor that's in our living room 24/7!

I got a call from my wife last week in a panic. She and one of our daughters were home in the middle of the day and heard footsteps. She locked the bedroom door, locked the bathroom door and stood in our closet with her .380 to protect our daughter until I got home (15 minute drive in 5 minutes) and cleared the house.

Our front door was unlocked (strange) but no stranger was in the house. Being a husband I believed she heard something and tried to sooth her, and discounted it as the house "settling".

Two days later a home intrusion occurred a block away. They didn't find the guy.

Take care of your ladies, fellas. Mouse, tarantula, ghost steps or home invasion, keep those girls safe!

Hey! The T Tudor is my heap. Thanks for the compliment.

This show is always a good time. There is always something there that I have not seen before.

Thanks Chip, for posting the pics.

  10. Mike, your car jumped out at me as well - extremely cool ride! I never really thought much about it before but I think I may like the tall T sedans better than the '32-'34s that I normally drool over.

Mike's car is easily one of my top five favorites around town right now! I LOVE full fendered tall "T"s, and always have. The second his came home and got it's Americans and cheater slicks I knew he had hit a home run!

    Aw...shucks.

You just don't see many stock bodied, full fendered Model T hot rods these days, even though they're just plain bitchin'.

My favorite machine at the show was the black '23 T Four Door that just recently hit the road. Very tasty.

Rad, I remember seeing that he got the tudor and did a wheel change that totally changed the look of the car if I recall correctly.

Crazy what a set of rollers will do to/for a car!

Wheel and tire change plus an el cheapo backyard gold spray job. Home done white vinyl interior done later.

Mata's version was cool, but this is the look that I envisioned for this machine from the get go.

  21. GOOD! If you keep showing pictures on that bad @as Fiat, I'm gonna end up in BIG trouble with the wife again! I've already thought about buying a glass one for my extra T chassis, and these pics ain't helping none!

I thought I would add something before I forget it. In all this time with my little car I have never put a tape measure on it to check the wheelbase. Yesterday I was over at my buddy Don Marks' place, and he was complimenting me on the 'Bucket's general appearance, and the question came up "what's the wheelbase"? I should have been able to rattle it off in my sleep, but I just have never had anybody around to hold the tape and I couldn't remember what I figured it for when I built the frame a couple of years ago.... 101", that's the answer.

Both sides LOL,just kidding :D:cool:,but have u put a small peace of angle iron with the point up on your jack head front to back of rod, jacked up dead center of rearend between tires tell ya see rear wheels come off=taking note of witch one comes up first and by how much before other dose=this is how u know four wheel balance of rod,if its too far off being even=bad braking and poor handling in the wet or stones ect,but not something that will show up in reg driving, only when your all ready in trouble:eek: Just a tip to anyone that don't know.
There a number of way to adjust this, but depens on types of srings and mounts you have.
