Yes it is, the Model A body only weighs 600 or so pounds, plus the back was being held up with a shop crane.
Proper pronunciation in this part of the world is Angle Arrn. You're from the South, you should know that. BTW, that A is a fine looking ride.
How rude! You make it sound like I only show up for the whiskey. I'll have you know Kim doesn't even have any whiskey in the shop! Not since I drank what was left the last time I was there helpin.
@Kim Strobeck real nice work on the exhaust...love the way it flows...great craftsmanship on the details indeed...
I used to drink whiskey until my buddies kept wiping me out, so I switched to Scotch, since it's different and an acquired taste. I'll be damned... didn't take long for my "buddies" to acquire a taste for it!! Bastitches!!!
@Kim Strobeck welcome to the HAMB, I promise we won't hold you being a friend of @Bandit Billy against you. Neat A coupe you've got there!
A little grill action, got to protect the expensive radiator. There will be a stainless or chrome strip down the center when finished.
"In like Flynn" is the correct phrase. A reference to Errol Flynn and his success in his amorous escapades.......
When your buddies do acquire a taste for scotch, buy some talisker , that’ll set them back for a bit.
And Kim is Ford traditional. The buck he made to make that mesh grille A insert in was pressed old school by his F150 front tire. That is pure Ford/HAMB right there. Honestly, I have seen the grille insert and it is pretty F'n nice! Kim, ice down the booze. See ya tomorrow after the primer is sprayed!
Maybe the reason all your "friends" drink your alky, is to save you from getting addicted to the stuff. You could maybe be a bit more charitable towards them, for being so kind as to actively look out for your health? . I mean, this gives you the opportunity to get more done on your hotrod... . & you don't get the DUI's... . & the work on the hotrod is more photogenic, &, &, ... . W/"friends" like that... ;D . Like Brother Dave Gardner always says: "It's all in how you look n study on it, Dear Hearts... " ! . Marcus...
DUIs are for guys who drink and drive, I promote a drive and drink mentality. lol to be completely honest I put on a good show for my Internet buddies but truth be told I haven’t been intoxicated in hours Silliness aside, Very valid points though and duly noted.
Hi Guys, I was at a local cars and coffee and a young couple just starting their youtube channel asked to interview me with my car. here is the results. if you can subscribe and like his channel, it will be very helpful for his channel.
A bunch of people sent me this, so I figured I’d chime in. I originally put this car together 15 ish years ago. The OP’s description is pretty spot on. I bought the car as a tired old Model A that had been crudely kept together by a tinkerer-type guy, and dressed it up as well as I could at the time. I never took the car apart, just had it chopped and then painted, both as “buddy deals” of sorts with a budget of somewhere between zero and less than that, and gave it as much eyeball as I could for a guy in his 20’s that spent most of his money on partying. Some of the best and worst times of my life involve that car and I do miss it. That said, I’m glad Kim is enjoying it and improving it. I get probably ten people sending me photos of it every time it makes it out to a local show, and I’ve ran into it myself several times and even chatted with Kim a few of those times, he’s a very nice guy. The full story of that car in my ownership can be read on my website, or heard on my podcast if anyone wants to know it. I can post links if you guys want, but I don’t want to hijack this thread. The same goes for photos, I have a few that offer some perspective and give a glimpse into the car’s journey in its previous life. If they’re wanted, I’ll post them here. I’m glad this car is living on, it was a huge part of my life for a very long time! I wish Kim the best with it. ironandsteele.com
