So - to continue the search/story.....I have been contacted by the previous owner! I have made contact with Rudy's brother, who's gonna relay my info tomorrow. planning on a sit down with the man himself(hopefully),and get the skinny on the original build from the photos in possession. Hopefully it returns to it's 50's glory while Rudy had it= OG! Might take a while to update, but the wheels are in motion. happy to be a part in this to see it come together! stay tuned!

  4. I was fortunate enough to see the Buzz Sawyer / Rudy Heridia coupe at the Half Moon Bay Dragstrip in 1957, or 1958. I will always remember seeing the coupe as it was quite nice.

Last contact= I've spoken with Rudy about the car, the times,etc.... The current owner (or was/is) a few years ago let me know he had it. I tried to set up a meet and greet between the three of us, but, it seemed the current wasn't too interested, did'nt have the time, nor wasn't all that interested. Just wanted me to give Rudy's info to him. My trail ended there. I can still get ahold of Rudy, talk about the car, old times with my POP, and history. I've tried, but seems like it ended there, =new /current owner, did'nt seem too enthusiastic t have a sit down, so I wasn't going to go out of my way........ we'll see what pop's up regarding the car, if ever.......

It's a small world out there, folks.... Back in the very late 90's, I knew a guy who was a little strange, but had some interesting ****. He had a "super modified" that was built and raced by Joe Wilhelm back in the 50's. He had several sprint cars, and dragsters. All pretty much junk. He did have a drag boat, called the "Too Long". Had a blown Chrysler in it. I stored it for him for about a year. Next came a Tee body. You got it.... It was the "Buzz Bomb". He had picked up everything else except the body in late 2000, when we were moving to Idaho. I had tried to call him, but he was pissed at me for not fronting him some drug money, so he wouldn't answer my calls. I had that body on a trailer with the last of the stuff I was bringing up here, when he showed up. I made him move it by himself, and off he went. I suspect he is the one who still owns it.
Sidebar: He is the guy that I got the '41 Cad convert from that Kurt owns...

Actually, the Buzz Bomb bore a resemblance to Ken Austin's '27, which later became the Tidy Tee.
