Sort of like 1/2 of my project cars... --- Hey, all. It occured to me that I never did a proper intro post. A little about me - I grew up on a NE Kansas farm, and always enjoyed poking around the old 'farmers junkyard'. After dropping out of engineering school (K-State) and joining the army during the Storm, I got an associates degree from UTI and went ot work for a BMW dealer in Houston. Fast wasn't enough, and I bailed before I lost my soul to the evil that is the 4 door late model repair biz. I currently reside in Albuquerque, NM, and I work for Cad Company, a Cadillac engine specialty shop. I was originally asked to check out a 'for sale' item and clarify by a customer, and found a board with a great community, so here I am. I'm the voice on the phone and the e-mail support at CadCo, for those of you with Caddy power. And still working on that ME degree, slowly but surely. My ride to pre-school was a V8 Vega. My first car was a '66 Chevy truck I bought at the tender age of 13 with my lawnmowing money (back when it was just an old truck, not old enough to be worth anything). I still own it, but it has been parked behind a barn for 15 years or so. My current projects include a '73 Eldo convertible (primary driver), a '53 60 series Riv V8, and my daughter's projects are a '19 Overland Phaeton and a '60 Panhard (yes, Panhard built whole cars, not just axle locators). I'll contibute when I see a question in my field, but I'm not very knowledgable obout 'traditional' subjects. I gravitate towards the old school on my own projects, but I've never been the type to pay big bucks for a 'correct' vintage part. That's what I love about this community - the knowledge is there, but without the snobbery and complete lack of a sense of humor that is so common these days. I also get a kick out of the fact that people bring experiences from other interests (automotive or not) that can be applied. I'll be mostly lurking and learning like any other newb, unless I see a thread I can contribute to knowledgably. Oh yeah - fair warning: I can get long winded.
