This is a long one... And its about shedding light on the snakes that lay in the grass in the car world.

I'll start form the beginning. It was Last year this month when it all began. I was looking for sometime for a project car and it being tax season I was ready to pull the trigger. I had got tired of my Gbody and wanted something older, pre smog. And living in LA the gbody was just asking to get stolen, plus the gangs and police ran to me like flys on s#%+.

The search began. And then I found her a 1964 buick Riviera with a 425 nailhead, complete for 3k on Craigslist, she needed work. I didn't care

At the moment I had 1k but a check for 4k was coming from my taxes any day. I contacted the seller and told him my situation and he told me it was cool. We talked on the phone and to my surprise it was a lady, she told me to come down to her shop because she wanted to meet me and go from there (My thought were she wanted to see if I was about my word)
So I load up the wife and we went. She told me her shop was in Lynwood CA, the old George Barris shop ran by Masterson (which is a good dude). I was impressed by the location. Over the phone she gave me her name and told me she was known in the car world of customization and was even planning on get her own TV show. This added to my level of trust..
I did Google search the lady's name and she was right, she was a known figure. Pictures with George Barris and even the famous Lead Slinger.. me I'm just a normal guy with a street past but I changed my ways and went strait.

We get to the shop. She gives us a tour. We talked, we bullshitted. And we agreed that I was to give her 1k deposit with a 2k pay off in one week (2weeks the most) when my tax check came.

So soon after came the deposit...
Every thing was cool we would talk every other day.
Then came the tax money and when I wanted to pay her the remaining 2k, that's when all the excuses and BS came. I could not get a hold of her. I went searching for the car.. It was gone.
It took me so much time hunting for her ass and calling people and driving around that I turned into a mad man. I came home sometimes in a bad mood, I wanted to go back to my old ways..

After searching for this chick I found out she went to arizona.. finally I got a hold of her and the lies just kept coming thicker and thicker.

One day I threaten her with the law she got scared and we started a payment program. It sucked I had to drive to her neighborhood out the way for chump change payment of 40$.. all in all to this day she's only paid 200$. Story was someone sold the car from under her, but that was a lie because I spoke with that some one... today as we speak the car is on Craigslist again for a higher price with some parts missing out the 425...
A couple a months ago I got a hold of her, I want my money. So she had a boyfriend now. The old barris shop cut ties with her and now she's out of a shop I'm santa fe springs off norwalk blvd..
I run into her man he insist I go through him, another Scumbag. He offers me shop work for the money the lady Owes me.. I told my wife and she almost killed me with just one look. But the wife was right. Why trust them again.

So about 3 months ago in my heart I let it all go. I just said f it all, I'm moving on. It's like pulling teeth from a crack head.. And when I did, I got blessed so much. I saw an add for 850$ for two 63 oldsmobile cutlass's. One hardtop on convertible. Now I got 2 projects...

    So I'm done.
Not quite..i let go. But today at work as a class b truck driver I was given an on call pick up.. I was to pick up at a residence, greeted by a guy with alot of nice cars in his driveway, classics. I struck up a convo with him and what do you know. He's a well know guy in the car world and he has heard of the same lady doing the same ol BS and of her man too who has done bad work for his friend. This lead me to post this, to warn those. And to expose these people who think they can get away with this. I live in a word is bond and word a mouth world.. if you have people or experiences to add please do..
    So hears my Scumbags.

I`ve got another one that tops the list. Johnny Sawyer from Reno Nevada. He contacted a friend of mine who was looking for a specific kind of car. Long story made short. My buddy sent 500 to hold the car. Traveled all the way to Denver(7 hour drive) to meet this guy and make final payment. The guy is a no show and phone is disconnected. Yes, he was vulnerable at the time, his wife had stage 4 cancer and had 4 weeks to live. But to take a mans money is one thing. But to lead him all the way to Denver is outright low. His wife passed away a week and a half later. That was Johnny Sawyer from Reno.

Karma eventually catches up with scumbags like them. It may take years, but it will happen. I'm a firm believer that those who go through life scamming and screwing over people will get their just "reward" at some point.

Sadly everyday there are people who are trying to separate your cash from your wallet.
They are cons, so they are good at it (some of the best salesmen in the world).
If something ever "just doesn't feel right" about the deal, WALK. Trust your instincts.

Cash in hand at time of purchase, title signed over, car taken home immediately.
There will always be risk (thieves baiting you, aware you have large amounts of cash with you).

What goes around comes around, somewhere down the road, Karma will show up, sadly that does not put your $$$ back in your pocket now. Our world has changed dramatically IMO in my lifetime of experiences now 69, Honesty, Integrity and Courtesy have faded away. I believe it's always been Buyer Beware on ALL purchases, you will meet good people in Hot Rodding hobby as there is many more good than bad, again IMO.

Thanks everyone, I believe in Jesus. If I didn't i would never been able to forgive her and take all the anger out my heart. No One can punish or get revenge back like Jesus. The problem at the time was that I was too trusting being new in church. But I learned that I must think like a snake to spot snakes and react like a dove to not get my hands dirty.. I'm not even gonna try to sue her ass because God will take care of it, I hope he can change her strait. But that's not my problem, I'm free like a bird from this b#@$h, but let me tell you about a year ago for so long she controlled all my thoughts , all my focus was on her.. forgiveness is a strong thing.. But to forget that's just plain stupid.

Thanks everyone, some of these post are so funny. I hope I can save someone out there from getting scammed.

The silver lining is that you can make a really neat car from those two Olds Cutlass. I look forward to seeing one done. Bill

Email Wrench Wars. Maybe they can act as a go between and get your money seeing that's she's a regular cast member staff judge on the show. It's a lot of bad press for them over the sake of $800.

The show looks to involve "Brother JD" who had the car flipping show Turn and Burn. He wouldn't think this deal was cool at all.

Donuts, forgiving someone is setting down your burden. Lots of people don't get that, congratulations on seeing it. As for her, we pray for those who trespass against us, still, she looks like she could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch.

I wouldn't trust a woman tattooed up like a gang banger man to start with. She just looks like she wants to screw you out of your money.

New wave - "Strive against anger. Strive for balance."

Old school - "Don't get mad. Get even."

  24. Funny in the world I come from the old guys taught me 3 basic rules. 2 of them don't really apply here but the first on the list is, "always keep your word." When forgiveness is not instant or absolute keeping your word is very important, if you might not get forgiven you have a real incentive to keep your word.

This is not an affront to Donuts ideal, he is good with his choice and I cannot expect him to live by my rules any more than he can expect me to live by his. Just an observation.

Well, Donuts...Over the years, I've found that some of my best friends are snakes! (well, were snakes. I never changed 'em, some of 'em changed...some might not have, I just cut 'em loose. Wife Joey is my best friend and partner.)

That fiendish bitch that 'did' you probably put your money into the collegen that went in her lips!
But don't worry...for, as a brutha of mine once prophesized: "Now. bitch got to walk aroun that way...lookin like that"
Profound statement, I know. But it helps. :p

I think she is kind of hot. Not saying what she did is right but damn, looks like a good time to me. Maybe not an $800 good time though.
