First..i want to wish a belated happy new year to you guys!

Let's start my first thread/post of the year with a love letter to the car that ate my brain in a way that i want to build a replica for myself and i'm not a really fan of doing replicas of famous hot rods/customs that are still around maybe just the ones that are lost, but this one really ate my brain and you guys influenced myself to love that car (just seeing lots of threads of it here when i was just a lurker), i won't being repe***ive since there's lots of posts here and you guys know every single nut/bolt and the whole history of it.

Ahhh, the car in question? The Mcmullen Roadster!
i was never a roadster guy but this one i fell in love with it.. that little deuce roadster makes me smile and think it's the coolest the cool, the baddest of the bad

Maybe i love it for it's history, maybe for the people behind it (Ed Roth put his hands on that car and i'm a big fan of Ed Roth), maybe for lots of threads here that you guys talked about it, maybe for the black paint with flames and that beautiful panel striping with pinstripes, maybe just because it's a wicked beautiful and fast '32 highboy roadster with lots of at***ude.

My plan: it's 2025, i promised myself to build a '32 and finish it until 2032 for celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Deuce, i wanted a 3w coupe but if it's a roadster body will be a heavily inspired Mcmullen Roadster and yes.. it will have parachutes because it's maybe my favorite feature of that car (some people may find stupid but i was mesmerized with the pics of Tom pulling the chutes on the street).

Also, anyone have any old video footage of it? I only see pics of it and two vídeos of #1 and #2.

Here's few of my favorite pics from this car (well i got a full album of it), plus my cellphone wallpaper and an artwork i done.

That's why i love that paint job, i love panel striping and it's unusual to see panel striped hot rods here where i live.

Roth did the original striping on that car. One of the biggest reason that I had my corvette panel striped! can't wait to see your car come together! calendar3.JPG stripes1111.jpg

My goal is first gathering and finding parts, the body and ch***is here is simple, only problem is getting registered (it'sa pain in the **** to do this here with such a project)..
The engines available in Brazil are: Fords Flatheads, 272/292, 302 (Windsor block) and Dodge 318 (LA block), i'd love to put a big block on it or the SBC.
The idea is getting a hot rod with Tom Mcmullen's and Phil Cool's roadsters mixed at***ude (beautiful paintjob, big tires on the back, skinnies on the front, mag wheels, parachute, moon tank on the front, etc).
It must be a street car that can also be used on the strip, be loud, elegant, somewhat fast and something traditional that i would day dreaming "i wish i lived in that era", it will be my love letter to the cars and the people that inspired me to love this culture.

wow, that´s a great goal! I love that roadster, but I have to admit, this early to mid 60s style is where I´m feeling cozy:D I´m also planning on having my 34 sedan panel striped once it´s registered and roadworthy. Keep us updated!

Look up Swillco's roadster for panel striping that makes a statement.

I must do another thread on my future project because this one is more like a love letter to Mcmullen's Roadster.

    Also here's a 3w version:

First parts found.. shifter knob and blue dots, now i need pretty much everything.. haha
I came up with an idea, since i said it will be heavily inspired by Tom Mcmullen's roadster, it doesn't mean that will be a direct replica.. i'll sketch my version of that car putting some elements from that iconic car, i'll post in some friday art show (maybe next week).

All i gotta to say is a big thank you to all of you guys that are cheering up and giving me ideas/tips for this project come alive, you guys rock!

I know the owner of this sweet roadster is from here too, i really liked the flames on his car because they are smaller and end less than half the body of the car (because the panel striping i want to appear next to grill shell and the hood i want fully louvered like this roadster), more black paint with white panel striping/pinstripes than longer flames is that what i aim for.. i want the paintjob elegant as Swillco with the raw at***ude of Mcmullen.
I will start to sketch my own version but first..

Please can someone tag him so i could ask if it's ok to do something similar with the flames? They look so perfect in my opinion also that finish is gorgeous!

Also, sorry to the owner of this deuce for downloading pics of his car.. but what a tastefully painted flames!
