I actually liked and understood the original post on this thread. Before it is shut down I'd like to add my useless comments. But I don't have any so let's build a hot rod.

I think the internet has made everyone overly self-aware. All those famous builders, famous cars, still popular among those in the know 50 some years after the fact... they are the exception, not the norm. I think the vast majority of cars built will become anonomous after the second owner, and I think it's egotistical to expect otherwise.
