Kurt belonged to our club LincolnLand Kustoms. In the 80's we had an indoor show in Peoria and Kurt drove the Dream Truck all the way from his place in a horrific rain storm. When he arrived, his back was so screwed up from that drive that he could hardly get out of the truck for the pain. We helped him out, cleaned the truck and got it ready for the show the next day.
It was hard to believe he could even fit in the cab, let alone make a trip like that!
I felt honored to be able to scrub the wide whites on such an iconic vehicle!

We were invited to visit with Kurt and Amy in 2016. We will only be here an hour or so. What a swell guy, spent a long time viewing his superb collection. Found out that Amy had a good pen friend in our home town in NZ , that my wife happened nurse with , what are the chances. Took them to his favourite lunch spot. 6 hrs later we had a wonderfull day .very hospitable folks.

After the Ford (or during), he owned this IMG_20220206_0001.jpg IMG_20220206_0002.jpg Olds. And before the Buick. I have a magazine with him getting an award at the KKOA Des Moines show in 84. Here is a pic of it from the 60`s.

I spent the weekend around Kurt and the Dream Truck at the Chevy-GMC truckin Nationals in Ogden in 1982 and spent a lot of time looking at the Dream Truck and taking a bunch of photos (pre digital) I'd have to agree that with the seats that were in it a long road trip wasn't going to be easy on the body.

Here is a pic of the Olds sitting next to the R & C Dream truck that I took in 85. IMG_20220208_0001.jpg
