My wife got me one for Christmas this year! It's sitting on top of my turntable right now, all lit up. So cool!

The movie is actually supposed to be 1947-ish; post-WWII, for certain. Yes, there is much "Wizard of Oz" about in the movie, but think about how long the original three "Star Wars" movies were originally promoted, and you can see where this movie is 1947 or so. There is also a 1947 First Series GMC pickup shown twice, and a 1947 Ford one-ton flatbed. Isn't the family Olds a '46?

I had a restored 1937 Terraplane Brougham, so the fight scene with the TP in the background always gets my attention!

I watch the movie twice. Also, "IAWL" twice.

I can not stand that jackass in "Elf". Never seen it, never will. Will Farrell is a talentless******. Yet, people watch him. I can't figure that one out.

I love the movie it was so much like my life as a kid. We had a coal burner that the auger would stick and fill the house with smoke I can still remember the taste of coal smoke in the house. We watch once a year during Christmas.

    Deuce Daddy Don -

Although I’m a big fan of the movie (I own the DVD and a “FRAGILE" leg lamp), my family & I only watched “TheA Christmas Story” once this year.

To make this thread just a bit more relevant for discussion on the H.A.M.B. here's one of the more "HAMB-friendly" scenes from the movie (with a couple of "hoodlums" sitting on a Model A Sedan body):

... and here's some of the other cars & trucks used in the movie:

Watched the movie twice this year, Hey Chaz I think the bb gun Mike found in the house before we tore it down was a Red Rider lever action and the one I got was a pump action, so we can all go shoot some metal signs and see where the richoche goes. LOL Hopefully not in our eyes.

I watched that movie every year with my dad, who never had a Red Ryder when he was a kid. Several years before he passed away I found the early reproduction they put out and gave him one for his birthday. I will always stop and watch that movie.

And the cars in the movie are great.
