  3. I'm gonna love this thread. My parents took me to the 64- 65 worlds fair. If I could relive one week of my life over again. I think I'd pick that week. I loved the Concept cars of the big three. I took this photo at the Petersen museum. As a kid I thought I be driveing something like this in the year 2000! lol;) Ron..... 346.jpg

Somebody with fabrication skills NEEDS to build that yellow pickup concept! So cool.

I think the silver and red one is even cooler. The doors mid bed on the yellow one are a little odd. There are a few that would be cool to see built. The gold coupe would be super cool.

Gordon Davis was a designer at Chrysler Corp. from 1955 to 1958.

Hired as an Art Center School alumnus by Virgil Exner, he began with the Advanced Styling Studio before being transferred to the Chrysler Studio and then onto DeSoto.

i was at the Gilmore museum this summer and they had a display of concept art. they put the challenge out to "top" professional designers in the industry to take a car from the past that is no longer made and draw what it would look like, if production had been continued. absolutely stunning concepts and a brilliant idea! gave me some customizing "food for thought".

It's kinda interesting that in '55, Citroën actually put a car in production that wasn't super far from some of the space age designs shown here.

Citroën's engineers were just as weird as their designers, and I can't imagine that the bosses even knew what was going on before it was too late. :)

As a kid checking out all the car books from the elementary school library, I loved the concept cars and pics from the styling studios. I thought it would be the coolest job to work there and carve the clay cars....I still do. I also wished that in the early 70's we were driving all those bubble top concepts from the 50's and still wish car design had gone that direction instead of the nondescript blobs we have today. I'm pretty sure the world would be cooler today had it turned out like a Weesner drawing and our bubble top flying cars.

I probably don't need to explain any further...other than Mr. Timbs looks rather proud of his car in this shot ... I had never seen this article before...may the car now RIP. ....nuff said.... except if this is not a proper place or time for this post ... please make it go away....Thank You....Terry (aka) Rudestude IMG_20181213_092101~2.jpeg
