Thanks for taking us along for the trip! Gary:)

  3. This should be an inspiration for anyone to realize that these cars are meant to be driven, death week sounds like a blast, I saw it when Tom announced it, also proves you don’t need a fast car to participate in drag week.

Jim, I know it's a little out of your time frame but you should look into the Montana 500. They drive 500 miles in about 3 days through Montana in stock Model T's, all Henry parts. It's a timed run. Then they tear down the winner to inspect for stock parts. I have talked to several that have run, sounds like a hoot.

I’m sporting a crew cut these days and have been for years. But when I was elementary school that’s how my dad always cut it and I was called “Onion Head” until they let me grow it out. That was the early 70’s…….o_O

I went on the first leg of the second Power Tour (1996), then the whole thing the next year, and again in 2004. But it's kind of boring.... :)

this is from 1997, I took my 55 with a blown 454. That trip was 5400 miles.

Was a 97 "longhauler", Portland to L.A. to Mt. Clemens and back home in ten days.
Saw you guys in the 55 at various stops, one of my fondest memories heading east was trying to find a big piece of cardboard in the middle of the rockies (at night) to put in front of the radiator on my pals pickup to build some engine heat.
Remember seeing Chip all bundled up driving Boyds red 57/59 "no top"...........burrrr!
Oh yeah, Baskerville in his flip flops too!

I get everybody to sign my headliner, funny thing is, when we're all dead and gone, somebody is gonna look at those signatures and think they found something historic :D:D:D

When applied at the right time, and at the right place, its not only artistic, but a validation of spontaneous liberation!

  29. This has to be the most awesome, fun ride along........build a car from boxes, straight to a long drive with a drag race at the end......and then back again.

I wanna do it after I shed my stupid work skin.......but I'll only drive at night........and alone :).

Thanks for being an inspiration for everyone to keep building and driving.....

I'll look over my fence for you if you're coming up the 5 after Barona to Bako......just like O.J
