John... hope your doing well and hope to see ya this weekend!

okay here's a hint on the new color for the coupe... The scallops will be a " black metalflake" striped in bone white.

I can't believe I missed this post for the last few days, that's a good lookin' car man. Gonna miss the old color, but change is a good thing. It's also nice to get all the little things fixed that can be hidden under years of bondo, silicone, and rattle bombs. Here's to having it done this weekend, if not, at least you know it's done right.

And on a side note, having the knowledge of what is going on and being involved is damn near as good as doing it yourself. It's one thing to go buy a Foose car, but a completely different thing to try and paticipate in the build. Nice ride, can't wait for final pics of the paint.

Sorry Dave, but i don't watch them Hotrod TV reality shows at all, though i have seen the Boyd one a few times, but the drama got very boring to watch.
Maybe i should though... I might learn something about being a "Hotrodder":)

You'll learn plenty hangin' with the dudes you already are dude, LOL. Lots more than watchin' any of that reality TV crap. Yes, Chip Foose is a car designer who actually made a name for himself working for Coddington (Boyd). Say what you will, but both of those guys have paid their dues, just not my kinda rides. But you'll learn much more about real rodding hangin' at a local shop than watchin' that crap on TV. It's all made for ratings. I think it might be cool if they showed part of the build instead of just the boxing, but that's just me. Anyway, nice ride man. I can't wait to see it painted. All I see now are the metal flake scallops and bone white, could be anything.

i had to finaly take a look at this post since i saw it was about 400 pages long :) . there is some super nice work going on with your car Cab. i can't wait to see the new paint job. it's awesome that your letting them fix it "right". so many people don't realize what can be hiding under the old paint and what it takes to get it fixed. looks like your there just about every step of the way so you should have a real good grasp on what it takes to do the job right and an appreciation for the work your buddies are putting into the car for you. nothin wrong with payin someone to do some work on your car. it gives those of us who do the work some money to spend on our own projects that we would'nt otherwise have. plus we can practice on other peoples cars and do it right on our own :D ..

keep the updates coming Cab. that car is going to be something to be proud of. and for the record. as much as i like building cars, i'd much prefer to be driving them.

Wow - A lot more work than initially brought in for! But man - it's going to be all worth it! Love the progress pics - and wish I had some guys like that to hang around while they work on the car - you must be learning a whole shitload of shit! (I like that saying.)

Can't wait to see the new paint! don't tell us anymore! I want to be surprised!

Apology accepted:) It's all good under the hood...hey, i don't have one on the Model A! The Hamb is a great place and to keep a loving friendly vibe amongst the family here is nothing but positve. there should be a law against "Drinking and Posting":) Thanks again and you seem to be a very cool fella based on all your other posts, that's why it seemed a bit odd to see your last one, didn't match up to your previous ones... it all makes sense now.
    Best wishes,

Cab, Coupe looks great, cant wait to see it done.

As A side question-I dont mean to hijack this post-but if I was a totally non mechanicially inclined/body work inclined/fabrication inclined individual would this mean that I cant enjoy hot rods/customs and that I cant be on this board? IMHO as long as your not purposely trying to be the coolest guy around with your car someone else built that you said you did, whats wrong with having someone else do the work?

I think Ryan said it best-
    "I have no shame.

I'd much rather be driving my hot rod than building it!!!!!!!!"

exactly. my chevy needs some bodywork and a paint job and when it comes time for that I will have to shell out the cash because I don't have the time nor the bodywork skills to do it myself. A goldchainer is someone who has a car built for them and then tows it around, constantly dusting it off at the car show. and don't forget the crybaby doll. Having friends do car work for you does not make you a goldchainer

Patience my friend:) Alex is working as fast as he can with the minimal help that he can get from time to time, plus all the hidden fix-ups he's had to do since he took this car all the way down to bare metal. In which ...was not the first choice, but when he did, he uncovered alot:( that added more time to the finshed job and looks like it might not make it to this weekends car shows. Bummed yes, but stoked that it will be a better looking and more sturdy Hotrod in the end.

If you can, can you please give Alex a call (408) 561-5744, it's really important and he needs to discuss with you about the progress of the car for this weekend and where he's at with it so far. Thanks so much for making time to do this for me... it means alot for sure, your awesome!
best wishes and see ya soon,
