The Coupe-De-CAB is getting "new look" this month

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Coupe-De-CAB, Jun 28, 2005.

  1. Steve - Can I ask how they mounted the firewall to the cowl below the screw in the indent on each side? Did they spot weld it after it was painted? It looks great.

funny you ask, it's actually not fully mounted/bolted down yet to the cowl ( just the top screws are in). but Alex is going to drill 3 new wholes on each side of the cowl and put a nuts and bolts through them to secure it to the cowl. these new Brookville firewalls don't really match up correctly on an original Ford body, seems like they build them to line up to fit their own bodies:( he's going to have to drill out the indented part of my cowl to match/line it up correctly to fit the screw in, then proceed to drill the next three bottom holes in my cowl and secure the rest of it. no welding will be done, it would ruin what he has painted already.

I LIKE! Those Guide headlights are gonna be the tits on there. Speaking of which, I'm sending them Insured Priority Mail instead of UPS. UPS beats the shit outta everything. Larry

It looks great. I love the color.

It kinda reminds me of my buddy's coupe. Similar in fashion.

You can never see too many cool coupes.

    Hey CAB,

Awesome lookin' paintjob on that thing! I was lookin' at a photo of it in the green w/scallops in my copy of "Classic Hot Rods" and was just admiring the sense of taste you have! Whether you worked on it or not, putting together a well-proportioned and properly detailed car is a chore on it's own, I'd say!

Can't wait to see it completely done! Congrats on the new look!

I saw the coupe in person the other day and the pics don't do it any justice. This car is bad ass.  Alex does great work. He helped me out with some hydraulic work I needed done. There's nothing he can't do.
