Hot Rods The Curse

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Ryan, Jul 14, 2008.

  1. Hang in there, Ryan!

This morning, while driving to work, nearly EVERY single idiot on the road had their faces in a %^*69tt-&%9@-ing cell phone and "driving".

There oughta be a law!...Wait, there IS a law! Nobody obeys it, and LE doesn't enforce it!

When I have a run of luck like that I try my best to picture God pointing down from the heavens at me and saying .. " HIM ! That little fucker down there.. get HIM"

Woah boy, at least you can't have bad luck around here without someone else topping your story.

Ryan, just when you feel that the whole world is against you, along comes Lux Blue to make you feel that things aren't quite as bad as they looked last night.

Karma must be an East Indian thing cuz it doesn't seem be in play here...Ryan give us all so much, and I am sure we haven't heard the half of this rotten run. Not to one up, but since Lux is playing....worst case of bad luck I personally know of is a guy who was drinking away his sorrows on 6th street on the anniversary of his brother's death (who donated his organs). The guy left the bar and while attempting to enter the cab(responsible decision) he slipped, fell, hit the back of his head and suffered a fatal closed head injury(also donating his organs). Ya just never know.

    Sooooooooo.

Not that he needs or wants it, but are we starting up a fund to cover any expense Ryan might incure that's not covered by the Mazda drivers insurance?

    I'm in for 50.00

Geez Boss. I am sorry and feel terrible for you.
I know it won't help much but remember the important things. The wife and the little ones and yourself. You'll get her fixed back up and drive once again.

Selfish on our end as it may sound, but at least you are ok and the car can be fixed. And you are still there for your family.

I would think this place should be able to help you get the parts to get her back together.

Look in your PP later this week for a little commision on my sales from here to help the cause.

Oh and yes my damned renewal of the Alliance Membership too so everyone else doesn't see time is running out. LOL! I am sure everyone else is tired of seeing it too ;)

Thanks again Boss for the place to play and we all do appreciate you!

WOW, sorry to hear the news. You certainly had more restraint then I did when I got rear-ended in my Vette. I through my car in park and headed for the guy who was still sitting in his truck. He rolled up his window and locked the door and wouldn't get out till the police got there. He probably did the right thing as I was planning on ripping his eyes out. He saved me a trip to jail I'm sure.

I feel your pain Ryan, my last month and change has been really hard too. Wrecked on my motorcycle, then lost my best friend to the other side of the planet. Hit the six month anniversary of a good friends passing (RIP Myron Jr). Suffered 2nd/3rd degree Burns on my arm at work. and to put icing on the cake, my late model got totaled two weeks ago.

  16. Damn Ryan, sorry top hear that. I woulda cried too. Luckily it looks like an easy fix and glad you are OK. It'll get better soon.

Sucks to hear about that. By far one of my favorite cars. Atleast it wasnt any worse.

  21. Glad you're O.K. Hope the car can be fixed. Mine is The Curse of the Light Gold Car.
Each of my favorite old cars (one a '62 Corvair monza, the other a '66 Impala Wagon) were Fawn Gold Metallic Cars. The stories are for a separate thread but, suffice it to say, both met their demise at the hands of other drivers and had sorted death defying tales along the way. My Pontiac is Red but was originally a color very similar to the others. I don't dare change it back to original. A few dings and scratches is about all I can take.

  22. Dang Ryan! I've been told that my glass is always half full......The way I see it, everything that you've gone thru could have been far worse and seem to have worked its way out one way or another. That, my friend, indicates that you are living right.

    Just think
Know you can justify putting on that set of 40 merc bumpers you’ve been wanting to get. :) Its all good bro.

  24. Lots of sad stories herein. Some days your shithouse burns up. Somedays your shithouse burns down.

Hey, good luck to all of us. It's a harsh ol' world out there...

  25. Man oh man, can I relate to this! Everything I touched lately has either broken or I broke it. Yesterday I was ready to Molotov the garage. Isn't there a full moon???

Glad to see the only thing bruised was the car, buddy!!!

That sucks... I guess there has been a run of bad luck going on lately, I've had some of my own, it could be worse, it could be better. But it'll all be ok come next month for the drags.

  27. Ryan,,could have been worse,,,,remember Deuce Roadsters 40 getting nailed by a S-10?

At least he was able to drive about 2 1/2 hours home,,,

    Hi Ryan,

    Here was my morning:

    1. Kiss wife and kid goodbye, she has keys to 1st car
    2. They leave, I look to my left and see the 2nd set of car keys
    3. Brain thinks - "WAIT, 2nd car is behind 1st car"
    4. Milli-seconds later I hear a "CRUNCH" and the 2nd car alarm going off
    5. You guessed it, go outside, see 1st car backed into 2nd car.
    6. Brain trys to understand how both the wife and kid did not notice 1st car parked right behind 2nd car. (Funny thing is wife parked it there last night!)
    7. Survey 1st car damage, is minimal, but now I have that classic funny looking crunched hood thing
    8. Move 1st car WAY FAR AWAY from 2nd car.

    Pete
