The SCTA logo was designed before the '49 season. Jim Dahm's T is first listed in the July '49 program, Tommy had run an A roadster at the May and June meets. I have read the logo was a caricature of the Spurgin-Giovanine roadster being it was the '48 Season champion, having broke the record at every meet in '48. Personally I feel it is somewhat inspired by Ray Brown's rear engined T. All guesses on what car was used as inspiration for the logo is conjecture, it is fun to guess though.
So I realized I never posted a pic of the current status of this roadster ! I set it up to race it at TROG then had some issues a couple years in a row now so it hasn’t been raced yet ! This is just temporary finish ( color , graphic , etc is just a quick look for beach racing )
so, guys, can anyone ID the photo location? I have seen stonework like that at the site of the Gillette Hunting Lodge at the top of Holliston in Altadena. anyone know?
