And feet that are always wet will rot and develop a severe case of athletes foot or as the trench fighters in the 2 world wars found out, a case of trench foot.

I could not of said it better!!! everybody WANTS perfect but it costs and it takes many many many many many hrs to accomplish. every good shop and body man I know eat hr after hr on restorstions, to avoid eating crap and having a bad rep for their work. And then get criticized when it takes longer or cost go up. Not defending the guy he took it to but I know several A++++ body men and painters and none of them get paid their worth. I should know, I do it myself

Thanks HRP, I learn something almost every day, trouble is, I forget several things every day too.

  11. So February is here. How's the car?

We started this one 3 weeks ago Wednesday.
    Tore it apart.
Chassis blasted and painted and delivered back to owner for reassembly.
    Body blasted top and bottom
    Epoxy primed.
Couple patches fabricated and welded in.
    Mud work done.
This is polyester primer shot today.
Should have it painted and rubbed by Saturday- if I catch hell and don't get to Wednesday it will be 1 month for the tub and chassis. And my help was out sick for a week and he still isn't feeling too good.

We will deliver the tub to the owner get some space and then do the hood fenders and doors.

The expensive guys are the way to go. Quality doesn't come cheap, materials included. I would say around $15,000 to have that thing decent top to bottom.

Mines been the painters 4 months. Been striped, primed, and painted and looks great. Now if I could just get the doors, trunk, front fenders, and hood back on, I could bring it home and reassemble it.

Well as of two days ago he actually applied some paint to the body, firewall and cowl were done. Although this car has been a large thorn in my attempt to be happy, my wife has become a much larger concern. We are waiting for her turn at a PET scan to determine the extent of progression of her stage 4 cancer. This is being done to determine the next treatment in the battle to prolong her life.

No what you are going thru.Had it happen to me twice.First time had to retrieve my car after 5 months after nothing done.Had a friend to do the body and paint on a 29 roadster I had and after two years, told me it wasn't enough money he quoted. He finally did it for extra money and I later had too have the work redone. Now, been waiting two and a half years to get my speedometer cluster rebuilt! Getting to a point where I am not trusting people to work on anything anymore.:(

Trust in God and the power of prayer, no matter what happens he will give you strength in difficult times.
You have our prayers to add to the others.
