Personally, I think a car built in the 50's with chrome bumpers look strange with painted bumpers, a cars in the 30's look good with chrome bumpers but the lack of bumpers looks better most of the time than than a painted bumper. IMPO, I like chrome on cars & trucks that were born with it, monochrome to me was a fad, like graphics,tweed interiors, I am a sucker for simple traditional styled hot rods and customs, and customs gotta have chrome. Chrome won't get you home, but then again the lack of gasoline won't either! HRP
Death of Chrome. I just got a new Silverado and it has shiny trim around the side window, on the grille, some side trim and some in the interior. What process do they use to coat that?
