Technical The Death of Chrome

    Personally, I think a car built in the 50's with chrome bumpers look strange with painted bumpers, a cars in the 30's look good with chrome bumpers but the lack of bumpers looks better most of the time than than a painted bumper.

    IMPO, I like chrome on cars & trucks that were born with it, monochrome to me was a fad, like graphics,tweed interiors, I am a sucker for simple traditional styled hot rods and customs, and customs gotta have chrome.

    Chrome won't get you home, but then again the lack of gasoline won't either! :D HRP

    Death of Chrome. I just got a new Silverado and it has shiny trim around the side window, on the grille, some side trim and some in the interior. What process do they use to coat that?
