This beauty is actually in a fine, brilliant metalflake that just doesn't capture on film.

I'll bet this Poncho looks good at night, with those blue-dot tail lights lit!

    /\/\/\ Dick Jackson's '57 T-Bird (Clone).
Dick worked at the Barris shop, and apparently liked Wheelin' and Dealin'.
In 1954, he bought a new, low mileage Merc, and swapped work on Sam Barris' '52 Ford in exchange for a top chop.
Dash was striped by Von Dutch.

In '56, he bought a new '57 Ford, and wasted no time turning out this tasty number, striped by Dean Jeffries.
    Dig the composite side trim!

Jackson took a break from new cars later in '57, and swapped his Ford with Buddy Alcorn for his chopped Merc.
He then updated it with two-tone paint, chrome, and striping. He sure liked bling!

The flip time on this was ultra-fast, for Dick soon sold the Alcorn Merc to buy a '57 T-Bird...with only 10 miles on the odometer!
In 1998, this car was cloned by Dick Jackson himself, as seen in the post above.

What a super clean looking Ford! Does anybody know what color that is as in is it a factory color from another car or totally custom? [IMG]

It's hard to tell from old photos, of course (notice grass): but Dodge/Desoto Adventurer Gold was very popular in its day.

    How 'bout this?
Lowered tail lights, shortened hood trim, '46 style skirts, '55 Packard caps.

    (Thanks, @madfish!;))

I've been looking for a '49 license guard but the ones I've found are badly damaged or WAY out of my price range. And i have several tail lights to chose from here at home. Thanks MO

Im looking at dark colors, green, navy, burgundy or black with blue candy over it, but it will have to be very straight to do the black/blue candy.

I think they repop the 49 Chevy one. I used. 57 Cad license surround for the 49 Plymouth bumpers on my 46 Chevy. More meat to grind for the ripples.

Thanks Roger, I'll look a little closer at the repos and the '57 Caddy, I've been building cars since the mid 70s and still learn things from you guys, none of us know it all but the things we do can always help others. BigO

Thank you, Roger. I'm actually from Loveland, CO, but I appreciate the acknowledgement!
