I'm going to straighten the rear since the frame I found is a suburban and the coes is a c20..then I'm going to weld them together and bolt everything back after I clean and rebuild everything. Question for the knowledgeable. I'm thinking of making it a dually but using the booster and brake lines...will that work with the bigger brakes? Again,I don't plan to haul anything heavy. Thanks.
booster should work, but the master cyl might be bigger bore for the dually as they use 3 in wide rear shoes. Also be aware, the Chevy dually pickup rear is wider than the cab/ch***is rear by quite a bit. Which leads to the question"how is that going to fit under the fenders?"
I don't think you will have any issues with using the current booster and master cyl. Drum brakes especially use pressure more than volume of fluid.
Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. I decided to keep it SWD for now.. I took both frames apart, the suburban frame is only the same from then front of the rails so I'm going to use the rear frame section of the OG coe frame.. But that means I have to square and straighten it out before welding it together.. I took a bunch of measurements..every part that gets unbolted got cleaned and painted... I'm building an extention to my Wall so I can get rid of the temp chain link, after that I'll start building the frame. I also bolted the good fender since mine is too much to repair..the metal has stretched and twisted too much for me to mess with.
wish I was there to give you a hand Seth. it was hotter here this week than it was there a couple days.
Man that would be nice..i deff need help. Been running a one man show for a minute now. It was hot this weekend but a desert rat can survive.
