Hi there, I have posted here a few times before. I thought some folks may be interested in this clip I just put on youtube. It features a early race with lots of early terminology and a bit of tecknical banter. You know what's cool about this clip is it shows how rugged these hot rods are...I'm not sure I'd take my AV8 screaming off the road into a field and keep going, mostly cause I don't want to screw it up, but look they're being used the way O' Henry made 'em. Faster however. Awesome stuff. I have this movie somewhere on VHS but since going DVD I have forgotten where it is... simply cool.
Yea thanks. I like the terminoligy and the banter, ant the insane race sequence also, its like the fast and the furious of its day ha ha
The Devil on Wheels is a great film, probably the first real "hot rod" movie made in 1947. I've included a original window card and lobby card from the movie. Interesting that Jan Ford later changed her name to Terry Moore and became quite famous. The Devil on Wheels was rereleased in 1961. Mick
I collect B-movies mostly biker related. that looked like a knucklehead cop bike. that rat race with the byas ply tires squal was tits ! that biker cop almost got vaporized in the race scene !
I think that one guy in the fine stripes was the ring leader in "The Choppers" that drove that t-bucket.
