If shortening and putting the work and dedication into doing so, I like this one best and think it pulls off a cl***y cool look without approaching cute. I like it!, but thats just my .02 (1st 2 dr rendering slv63)

This one gets my vote! The proportions really work well.

This was mentioned earlier, but if this is too long for you, it will need some sectioning and a shorter windshield as well.

Maybe you can shorten an inch or a few here or there but eventually you could end up with:

Note how the headlights, hood ornaments, windshield, and bumper look especially heavy. Since the body panels are shrinking and those parts have not, they begin to look bigger.

These are from the original post^

It seems to me that one solution could be driving from the back seat. I don't do photoshop, unfortunately, and it's a rough idea but when I see these pictures side by side that's where my mind goes.

nice! and i'm flattered. it was a fun drive last week!

vent windows: i had a similar dilemma, so i added a diagonal brace to the A-pillar in approximately the same place as the vent window frame. it preserved the proportions and added at least a bit of strength to the pillar.

the edsel has the wheels-tucked-inside-a-box look that many cars from that era have. i pulled the front corners of the front fenders, and the rear corners of the quarter panels, inward a couple of inches, so that the tiniest edge of tire pokes out past the body. plus i [badly] chopped out the swoopy wheel cutouts and re-shaped them into offset hemicircles. that sort-of "modernized" the look without changing the old car look. of course you may want precisely that swoop opening, YMMV, etc.

paul: i half-seriously considered sectioning the rambler american. but since it's a unibody it got complicated fast so i abandoned that as stupidity-that-would-take-too-long-to-complete. not that i'm opposed to bad ideas in general.

Glad to see there was this much interest in the idea. My altered images are intended to appear as if the factory built it more than suggestions of retro modifying an existing vehicle. I created the Raven what-if photo edit and wrote the fictional story in 2016, and submitted it to Hemmings*com, they published it on their website in April of that year. Here's a red version.

I have also created a digitally painted version, here are steps in that process.

And digital format allows me to alter the image into numerous color options and combos.

Four door convert appealed to me, could be done in a month and be out cruising with 5 of my friends along.
