It's not the last one! It's simply the last one overseen by Mark and Ali who owned the Beaches Restaurant. They will continue next year, and I expect nothing will change from what's been done in years past.

I hope you're right, parks dept. protocol can turn the simplest things into a clusterf#@k.
Remember what the crybabies did to racing at PIR due to noise issues.

I think that could have happened anytime before this if it was going to happen. One thing that's kept this from being an issue like the great drags we used to have at PIR is noise levels. Beaches isn't going to draw the attention of the Kenton Neighborhood Assn. since it's a very quiet event compared to Top Fuel and Funny Car noise levels.
Plus Beaches donates so much to local charities that it would be bad publicity for anyone to do something that ends that. Unless the event doesn't continue to give proceeds to charity it should be able to go on flawlessly.

@Bandit Billy saw a post today on IG that someone has taken this over and the first one will be early June. I believe it was all American classics in Vancouver, that posted it. Maybe @Spooky knows more and can confirm....

Yeah, I met the lady that is getting this thing started when we were at the Portland Transmission show Saturday. She was walking around handing out stickers wearing a red Marlboro Racing pit crew suit. When I used to smoke, I was only a few coupons away from owning one of those. It was that or a free lung screening, I probably would have gone for the jump suit.

I will likely skip the opener, same for Alderbrook. Something about sitting in line for a couple of hours just to park and look at cars annoys me. Oh well, smoke em if you got em.
