"The owner cut a hole in the body panel above the gas tank and some kind of a tow hook was added." Perhaps here ist the reason for the tow hook:
Thanks for your posts, Steffen. The car on top of the page is a Model Y, which is much smaller than the Deuce as we know it. Also, a small number of European Deuces came with a V8, but they were rare due to the taxes (tariff) as mentioned in your post. Here is a recent V8 barn find (see Post #687): http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/the-european-deuce-thread.970652/page-23
Yes, it seems they realy sold some V8s. I was searching for this because you boys made me interessted and also found some informations. Very interessting topic. I'm searching always about US-cars sold/produced in Germany. There were many. I was surpriced. But there is nearly no information to be found. Otherwise than in the USA we have had a little "cut off" in 1945 ...
As mentioned in the "European Deuce" thread, the Tudor has found a new home: "SOLD! After owning it for over two years, the ’32 will enjoy a new life near Motor City – Detroit, Michigan. Tom, the new owner, “gets” the car and all its visual imperfections. He already owns several hot rods and cars from the ’20s to the ’50s, along with a restored Dragmaster rail from the ’60s. Very sad to let the car go… but I truly think it will be in good hands. I will always cherish the memories of that Deuce. (Above: Suede Palace at the 2016 Grand National) Have fun, Tom!"
I am the proud new owner of "The Euro Deuce". Sold my 34 roadster and it was either putting the money in the bank or buying this-the family voted for the 32. Can't wait to get it and drive it. Only regret is that won't have it in time for the detroit autorama but will be in the ba*****t next year-my 2 son's are members of the road devils and we all will be there next year, they skipped this year after being in the ba*****ts for quite a few years. Plan to have it on the road as much as possible- i know we will be at billetproof at the Detroit Dragway Reunion at Milan Dragway on june 10th. along with our running our 62 dragmaster & 63 chevy 409 super stock. Plan on driving it though way before that. I want to thank Stephan for selling me the car and Ryan for the great article he wrote and his opinion about the car. Hope to see fellow hambers on the road soon! Tom and the entire Kowal family..........
Tom, I have no doubt the car is going to a good home! You'll enjoy it, no doubt. Watch for people scratching their heads ;-)
Soooooo glad to see it going to right person. As a side note I noticed the remnants of a Swan-Finch logo and to my surprise. I have one of their cans in my collection. Didn't know they where in or shipped to France?
