a french share for the societe ford française . note the date june 1929 . bad year for a good speculation !
Thanks Clem! I used to put more energy into this thread, but I still keep an eye open for fresh pictures, which I post whenever possible
Hello everyone. My name is Malte and I am a guy with an obsession for prewar cars, dreaming of owning one myself sometime. Nearly one year ago, @57snrf shared a link to a 1932 Ford V8 being sold via Prewarcar.com. I´ve found this aswell during a boring Zoom-Meeting and fell in love with it at an instant! ... Well, I am now the new proud owner and it is now in its final steps before registration. Apart from a horrific wiring mess and a retrieved interior it seems to be in a quite original condition. After a change of all fluids and a check of the brake system, the car is now running and the only obstacle remaining to meet the german road and safety requirements is to fit hazard lights. Beeing the fourth owner with copies of documents leading back to 1934 makes it very clear to preserve this car as best as possible. It was built and driven in Denmark until March 2021 when it was delivered to me who lives in the South of Germany. As there is still some work to do, I would like to ask you all where you get your parts from? Is there a dealer who has a larger portfolio with parts of good and reliable quality? My greatest concern are brake shoes and original fuel tanks. Furthermore I would like to reactivate the hydraulic fuel gauge. Does anyone have original instruments? Does anybody know, if the samaphores were commonly fitted on european Fords or was it a danish speciality? I am very keen to get in touch with you all! Malte
What a great find, Malte! A lot of the parts are interchangeable with U.S. Deuces. That would be the case with items such as brakes, suspension, gas tank etc. But probably not the instruments, which varied from one country to another. Not sure what they used in Denmark... From what I can see, a lot of European models had semaphores (UK for sure), but I could not tell you about the specifics for each country (Denmark in particular). You might want to look for suppliers in the U.S. for stock Ford components, such as Mac's Auto Parts. Have fun!
