7.70 @ 151 on my "moderate" licensing pass last October, still have to finish up the passes, hopefully in the next month or so. Eventual goal is 6-Flat at 235mph +/- with the car I'm currently building.

Clocked 137mph by local law enforcement once in my 66 Nova with Dad onboard about 27 years ago.

Whatever a MD-80 does while at cruising altitude, 450ish?

115 in a big block 69 SS Camero. My dad was driving. He was a cop at the time!

The fastest I have ever "felt" I was going was somewhere around the 100mph mark on a snowmobile. Damn that was cold!

  7. I pulled 145 MPH in 1965 Corvette, Mid Day on the Capital Beltway here in VA in the late 80's. Was racing a early 70's vette and we both got passed by a late 80's vette running about 160! The woman driving the 80's vette laughed and waived as she blew are doors off!

  8. 199.6 in an IMSA GTP car. The best part is I was strapped in to the passenger side sitting on foam and using a tie down strap to hold me to the cage. It was on a Thursday before a race and we'd have been kicked out of the series for sure had the tech guys seen what we were doing. A least i had a Fire suit and helmet on. Won't name the car, driver or track to protect the guilty parties but I will say it was powered by a Buick V6 turbo!

I've been fortunate enough to take a pass or two at Bonneville. Best speed was 278 Mph with my two way record average 260.139 Mph.

Racing on the Salt are some of the best you can have.

  12. On land, 145mph in a GT1 Monza at Mosport road coarse, 125mph at Cayuga Speedway in a Late Model and 130mph on my snowmobile. On water, 136mph in a 38' Apache race catamaran on the river and 108mph in a 41' Apache V hull in a 6' sea off Miami. Can't get past 60mph on a bike without falling off.

Was in China for work last year. Went on the Shanghai Maglev train from city to airport at a bit over 450kph. Was a freak-out on the turns through built-up suburbs at that speed. Felt like "getting the knee down" but in a train :D

Woulda prob been faster had the dude we were chasin not crashed....

kinda glad it ended where it did....crown vics handle like tanks....it was wicked scary....i do believe i had multiple tires off the ground a few times...oh yeah it was downtown/freeway driving...inner city = pucker factor....if the dude hadnt just whacked someone i woulda backed out long before....

I didnt realize we were talking about aircraft too...last known ground speed prior to crashing (milspec in a prior life) was 215 ground....blew both knees out and trashed my back....I felt lucky...hell we all were...

    I dont fly anymore...cold day....

    Well......back in the day had a 67 Camaro SS/IA that did 10.78 @ 126MPH in the quarter.
Just a few years ago pushed my 97 Mustang Cobra to 148MPH in the Silver States Classic.
