After 38 years of being in the aviation business, today was the last time I would walk out of this hangar. Now on to bigger and better things! Full time on the Dust Bowl Speed Shop World Headquarters!!!!
Congrats. Easy life, except for the ~40+ yrs of catch-up doing what should've/would've/could've + honey-do's that work n Life interfered with. At 1st, I thought you made a new purchase, due to the "Opportunity to Upgrade"... . You'll find the Stress will dissipate. Marcus...
I know it’s gonna be a little bit weird not having to go to the work house like you’re used to doing, but you’ll miss it every once in awhile. It took me a few months before it hit that my days were not long enough to get the things done that I needed to do. Retirement is great but it’s a whole nother experience
Congrats!!! I'm right behind you, in a 5 week countdown. Can't wait to see my place of employment in my rearview mirror one last time...
32 years so far, hopin' prayin' fer more !!!!!! If you find there is ANYTHING about retirement you just cannot stand, let us know !!!
been a retired carpenter for 4 years, highly recommend it. retirement is the best job i ever had. after a while you'll start to lose track of what day of the week it is.
Congrats! I retired in 2021 after 38 years in airfield maintenance. Airports are a great place for a gearhead to work! That being said, retirement is awesome…
Im semi retired and love it,if i had known how good it is i would have done it 15 years ago.I dont know how i worked and kept things going at the same time, there just isnt enough hours in a day anymore.
The only thing I can suggest is to keep in touch with former co-workers. Never know when you need some connection or tool to get further along on the HAMB projects.
I loved work! I by choice worked stupid hours for a lot of years; not exactly sure what I was trying to prove. I retired, everyone said that I would be lost. I missed going to work for about an hour…..
I was fortunate to retire in 2020, during the pandemic. I had been sent home to work in March, pulled the plug late July. So the only thing different the next day was not going to the “office” in my basement that day. And I had been getting up to go to work since 1972 by 6 am at the latest. That first day of retirement, I slept in, 6:30! Miss some of the people, not the work, and especially not the politics
