<<<<<<For starters...how do I post something like the small pics some of ya'll have under your names? Also, let me get this straight....if I wanna post pics in my replies, as opposed to as an attachment, it HAS to be hosted on another site (ie, StarPhoto)? No direct posting like before? I think you're right about posting pics. As for the little picture near your name (its called an avatar) go to My Home and then to edit your personal information. There is a part near the bottom to add this picture, just follow the instructions.
Yeah, I went there...eveything "exceeds the max size"...regardless how low res and how small I make it. The funny thing is that the first day HAMB was back, I was able to get a avatar pic posted...but it was the wrong one. No matter what I did, the same wrong pic kept coming back!?! I even had my bro-in-law come over since he's one of the computer smart guys...still no luck. I'm on a imac if that helps narrow down possible problems. Thanks.
if you e-mail me the pic i'll make it small enough. As for replacing that should be simple just put in the new link though i don't know if you can just get rid of it. i don't know if that helped as for teh size the image size is 80 x 80 and under 1000b Garth
I dunno. I've got an image 80x80 @ 50dpi, exported as a GIF using an adaptive 64 colour pallette... file size is 4k. Won't let me import it. I'm stumped. This isn't a Mac/PC thing is it? Big A- in this case your best to save as a jpg because its a smaller format than gif. the size in order to host on the HAMB is 1000b or less. if you host elsewhere like i do you can host a bigger file. If you want you can send me your larger file and i'll make it small enough to work on the hamb. Garth
A fully compressed jpg of the exact same file is 24k. I must be missing something (hey, it wouldn't be the first time). Shiva are you using ImageReady or someything that really compresses the hell out of files? How come I can reply to this without signing in? This is going to cause some shit from the jokers. The standard for the internet is 72 dpi, not 50 dpi. Your image saved at 50 dpi will appear smaller on the internet than you see it on your computer. Most computer programs I've seen let you re-size an image. You might have to "crop" the sides or the top and bottom to make it square. Images created on PC's or Macs display the same on the internet.
