Tried to make some small wooden blocks from white oak I had laying around, but they are really small and cracked when I screwed them down. Changed direction and just put a piece of 1/8” steel under each latch. I also flipped the latches around so the third screw is toward the inside. I think it hides them better. The 1/8” boost is just enough to make them easier to latch. IMG_6267.jpeg IMG_6268.jpeg IMG_6269.jpeg IMG_6266.jpeg

And with them flipped, they flop out of the way better. A couple more of the hood closed. IMG_6270.jpeg IMG_6271.jpeg

Check another off the list! Looks good, they nearly disappear.

Planning for a dash upgrade soon. Got a Hollywood 8 gauge panel and a Brookville 32 style dash. Planning to modify the dash profile to go around the bottom of the panel to look more finished. Oops. All sideways. Sorry IMG_6360.jpeg IMG_6361.jpeg IMG_6362.jpeg

Bummed that I found a nice pair of ‘29 Cal plates that I thought were clear (called DMV and they said that the sequence wasn’t ***igned), but when I took them in with the paperwork they said that they were ***igned and I couldn’t use them. now I’m on the hunt for another pair. image.jpg

I had the same problem with 29 Texas plates. But I wound up with a 29 Texas Dealer plate. I hate being ripped off.

The seller didn’t rip me off. If anyone did, it was the DMV who told me they were not ***igned before I bought them and then changed their story when I took them in to register them.
