Had some time today....started on the pedals, using F1 pedals. Made a plate that will later get boxed both top and bottom. Making the clutch linkage is going to be tricky.

Is there an adapter available to run that MC with the F-1 pedals...or did you build one?

Were in the shop right now working on the roadster, Mike has a hall pas tonight so we're knocking stuff off the list.

We cut up a model a headlight bar, heater and bent it, re welded the cross bar in. Bolted some guides on... Me like

Just finishing up the modified F1 front shock mounts, shortened them drastically than re positioned the frame mount side.

Shocks are done. We're starting on the ressrs now. I'll post real time updates.

Spent some time on the rear shock mounts but shoot it was midnight and we were tired.

Interesting tid bit.... Jeep front shock mounts work perfect as rear shock mounts. I'll post a pic of them in a few.

Looking good, Pete. Maybe I'll stop for a visit - family reunion will be in Oxford in August.

Great build watching with interest as I am about to start my A model hiboy project soon ,nearly have enough parts to get serious putting pieces together . What type of master cylinder have you used? Thanks Gary.

  21. Hey there Pete, how many leaves / what spring are you running out back?

I've been racking my brain and considering a double pie cut to drop and shorten my frame on my build, but I know I'm going to have trouble dialing that in if I go that route versus how you went. It looks like you've got a comparable spring to the one I've got kicking around. I've also got a 4" drop axle in front so I'm eyeballing your stance here.

The rear spring is stick model A, I'll ask my brother if he removed or added any springs.

I like the work you're doing! It is very nicely done.
Whose steering arms did you use and where did you purchase them?
It appears they would work well on my '32.
    Thanks, Dave

    Dave,
I think mike got them from speedway, not 100% sure.

The shock mounts came off a '79 cj frame but are the same up to the late 90's

Sooo.... After a long nap were back on the roadster.

Spent all day Thursday getting the body secured and squared to the frame. Since the rear of the frame is pinched and Z'd we had to re configure some of the rear mounts. Since the rear of the frame is Z'd I had to make a portion of the sub rails to re connect the area that was removed for clearance.

I made rear frame extensions to secure the rear of the body to, as an xtra precaution I boxed each end of the rear cross member to minimize flex.

These bodies are super flimsy so we added an X stiffener that allowed us to get the quarters moved where they kinda should be.

I thought about removing the entire rear '32 sub rails but decided to just modify the "ramp" by extending it to reach the X brace.

Looks good Pete. Nice to start with a body that you dont have to build from 3 new england wrecks then weld the bottom 6 inches on haha
