No progress yet , mikes getting his new shop built so once it's done well Be back on it. We're hoping to race it at 2018 trog.
Mike Posted Pics on ModelA builders FB page. Posted a link to this build, hadn’t seen it till now. Read from the beginning. Very Cool you guys are building it together ! He making progress on the shop and any progress on the roadster ? Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Mike finished his shop, tools are situated so work has commenced. With the chassis 80% set up the body was removed and sent to Traditional Speed and Custom in Pittsfield NH for some minor body and paint. Mike picked a dark green,,,,green looks good on anything!! Eli shrunk some panels, bumped out some low spots than sprayed it.
We got the body home and dropped it on the chassis one more time. We had to re adjust the pinion angle and installed a double toque arm.
that is almost too nice, great work, pat Eli on the back for me, the finish is better than new... go boys go !
Nice work on the torque arm brackets!...I scrolled thru 100's of chassis tabs on Epay looking for the ideal one that could be easily modified for the situation. Milled some out of 3/8 aluminum but was concerned with strength. And they just didn't look right. Little thing as such are sometimes the biggest hurdle. -Ron
Spent a few hours at Mikes tack welding odds and ends. Since then he’s removed the engine and stripped the chassis bare. It’s off to get blasted, than a full box job and final welding.
Here’s a few pics of the rear wishbones. They meet isn a stock configuration and pivot on a 7/8 Heim joint. This lets the rear end move with no stress.
