That nerf bar is SO COOL.

I really like your ride. I'm not surprised, seeing as Bob is building it. :)

Hey, Dreddybear, is Bob Bleed the dude who owns that "controversial" '32 that ws at the old A.S.S. for a while ? And is he the one who relocated to Milwaukee a while back and started M F speed shop ? I bought a couple T-shirts from a guy at a stand just outside the swap meet center door. Just wondering.

Yes, Bob was an owner at ASS and moved on to his own shop- Midwest Fabrication. That 32 is a piece of Hot Rod history. Such a great car.

  7. Shamelessly stole this from jeff's Instagram...

  8. 1 more... shows how the seat risers were made. We plan to chrome these down the road. Kinda remind me of 50s diner chair legs!

The car is looking great , Purdue, as expected. The seat risers look a lot like some '40's trucks I've seen somewhere. I like the front bumper. The dash too.

  13. Little spoiler here... It will have a little more jewelry before this is over...
Fresh little 327! Fenton intake, old cal custom 40-30 scoops and valve covers.

Should have another update tonight or tomorrow!

I was hoping Bob would bring your car to Detroit, but no such luck. I guess it was blown all apart at the time.

  19. Hah, it still is blown apart, gunna be down to the wire to make the roundup!

  20. Haven't gotten to see them in person, so you get to see what I have. Little blurry, but that's all I have for now. Really happy with the job Upholstry by Stichbitch did! Don't tell anybody, but there's even butt heaters sewn in! (Is ass heat taditional?)

  22. The frame is starting to come together again. Down the road, when the car gets paint, a lot of the chassis bits will get chrome. Wish we had the time and budget to do some of it now!

  23. Looking ace, join the dots to get it functional and safe, enjoy it, and you can always evolve it as time and opportunity presents itself. Great stuff,
    Cheers,

Sounds like a good plan, much better than the "selling for a friends widow", needs to be finished.

  25. Strombergs came in today... turns out, chrome really can get you home!

Bob surprised me with the graphite accents. I think it really ties it all together!

Subscribed. love this build. Just wondering if some foam insulation or other fireproof material should be put behind and under your fuel tank. It's so close to the rear of your car.
    Thinking kids and safety.

  27. Thanks fellas! Yeah I hear ha, I'm pretty excited to get this on the road. Plan is Enjoy it all season and then tear it apart next winter for paint. (that is if I can give it back up)

We really wrestled with this. When it comes to model A's there no really good spot. Stock tank is in your lap, rear deuce tank may be even more precarious. This tank is in the same spot 90% of guys building Tudors put theirs. But for some reason, it seems worse in the tub. I guess because it just seems more open. We did fabricate a steel firewall of sorts, to isolate the tank from the seat back. The rear body sheet metal and tube structure should provide more protection than most. But it is a hot rod and must be thought of as such. There's no roll bar either.

I guess it will come down to being alert to what's going on around me and being as careful as I possibly can, especially so with my little dude in tow.
